    There has been great advancements from all brands, and the prices are lower if you take the inflation in the account. I think 2022, 2023 and 2024 are and will be the best years for camera industry, the brands are putting all projects that were stopped because the pandemic and chip shortage. Fuji XH2S and XH2, Nikon Z8, Canon great midrange, Panasonic S5IIX, etc. And just wait for the end of 2023 and all 2024. Canon R5II, Canon R1, Panasonic S1 line with PDAF, Nikon high end APSC, etc.

    It feels like APS-C is having a bit of a renaissance in 2023 after Full Frame seemed to be all the rage over the last few years. Seeing both a string of new APS-C bodies as well as a bunch of new APS-C lenses across multiple mounts is really making me wonder if I still want to lug around my A7IV setup. Now we need Canon to open their mount to third parties so that there’s more competition on the market.

    @j16m02

    11 ай бұрын

    @@arvidjohansson3120 I totally agree, but if you are looking for a compact APS-C body what are your options? All 4 cameras in this category, Sony a6700, Fuji X-S20, Canon R7 (which for me doesn't fit in the compact category) and Nikon Z50, use the same viewfinder. So does the OM-5. You have to get into the larger Fuji bodies, X-T5 and X-H2 to get a better VF., and those both significantly heavier, especially the X-H bodies. For me, bottom line is, the A6700 is a reasonable upgrade over the A6600, but not what I was hoping for. It's only a "flagship" because there is nothing better in the Sony APS-C lineup.

    In case anyone is wondering about the wobbles from other reviewers a lot of them were using the new 8mm that fuji also sent them to test. I’m guessing the wobbles in other videos were based on the ultra wide lens and not the camera. The 10-24 does the same thing at 10mm, both versions of it. Going to 12-14mm seems to fix this issue. So you should be good with the 10-24 at 12+ or with the 16mm prime (though still a little bit too close to my face for my comfort but some people like it) if they made a 12, 13 or 14mm prime ( a new one) it would be a nice alternative too.

    I'm an X-S10 lover, and this looks like a worthy upgrade. I agree with the sentiment that the new processor and new battery are more important upgrades in this camera than the new sensor would have been. The subject detection modes, animal eye detection, autofocus improvements, new video modes, and the several other minor features are huge steps over the X-S10. Yes, almost every single thing I didn't like about my X-S10 was fixed: no more crappy battery (2 hours footage on 1 battery!), no corner wobbles with wide lenses, way better autofocus (still no tap to track though), 10bit 4:2:2 in camera (14 stops in FLOG2 is incredible, slightly better than the X-H2 even!), no record limit, 4k60 for great b-roll, LCD is way better (I didn't expect this to make as much of a difference as it does), IBIS is as good as flagships, plus an unexpected massive bonus of 6.2k open gate - I am the owner of a small business and being able to crop for portrait and landscape from the same video should save a lot of time! -- I'm still keeping the X-S10 for when I want multiple angles and dynamic range isn't as critical :)

    Well, I like the X line Retro controls, but have no issues or dislike of the more in keeping with traditional camera styling. What have issue with is the addison of or any inclusion of Video.I love it if Fuji made a Twin to this minus the video I have no need for or love for and made a few other value added features for a True Stills Camera. At this point in time they'd be in a retro sense ahead of the curve. Which I suppose depends on your perspective. And they could approach it in one of two ways make it less expensive with just minor upgrades to this level say the higher resolution view finder. Or they could go slightly more expensive and come closer in specs to their Higher End units sort of splitting the difference price wise and some options close to their XH2 and XH2s. But then this for some is what dreams are made of and don't always come true. That said, since is close to the XT 4 / 5 and has leanings in the XH2 direction I will certainly give it a look see. One option I wish it had is what Olympus calls Live Bulb. I didn't hear any mention of in camera Image Stacking which hopefully it incorporates in it's menu options. I'll be deep diving to see. Thanks for the review as I hadn't even realized it was a thing and now I know.

    Love my X-S10 this seems like a brilliant upgrade. Though I don’t use the video features allot on mine they are already awesome when I do use them. The battery life isn’t great on the 10 so great to see that sorted. I just wish they had weather sealed it as that would have made it worth my time to upgrade.

My only concern is I want a new body for high end video for my boy’s sports ( soccer/ lacrosse). I’m not sure this camera would be as good as the A6700 for that. Can’t wait for the follow up comparison! Really like the R7, but the lack of 3rd party lenses is a deal breaker.

    Excellent video! While the advances over the S10 are evolutionary they are real and worthwhile, even the extra battery capacity alone would be a useful upgrade. This is just a good, solid camera that does everything well enough at a reasonable cost. Fujifilm also offer a great range of lenses. I think the Sony Alpha6700 is ahead on autofocus and also has some great lenses but in most respects (expecially handling) I much prefer the S20. A great enthusiast camera.

    @mosaic11 what if you have neither. I'm a Canon M50 user, to be honest I am actually quite happy but I am looking at something better for sports. Was keen on an R10 or R7 but there's been quite a few AF issues coming up so now I'm back looking at new cameras and this X-S20 was something I never previously considered. I just hate how manufacturers don't make all their cameras weather resistant

  • @mosaic11

    @mosaic11

    11 ай бұрын

    @@thetoyota86perspective54 I don't think it's that important to emphasize the water resistance of the body. In most cases, you won't be shooting in harsh weather conditions. And even if you do have to shoot in that environment, a plastic bag can usually solve the problem. If you're on a budget, the X-S20 is a good option. I personally bought the X-H2S because it can shoot 4K60p without cropping! This is important because it means I can always prioritize 60p shooting, and I can have more freedom to choose which parts to slow down in post-production.

I like the Kit Lens but I'll be going to Asia this October and I definitely am looking to add another lens or two. I know I need an ultra wide angle, but what other lens should I look into? I don't want to spend as much on lenses as I did on the camera, so are there any good options anyone can recommend? I really like the new 8mm they released, but would that be a good addition besides my kit lens? I'm open to suggestions anyone has because I'm absolutely lost. I'll mostly do street photography, landscape and architecture. In the meantime I'm practicing on my dog so bonus points for lenses (prime or not) that are good all rounders for this.

    We've just got the X-S20 and overall it looks and feels great, but we are having issues with what we desire to be the main use of the camera: to use as a webcam (Zoom, Google Meet) and for OBS purposes (for KZread videos). Supposedly the camera should be very "plug and play" in terms of setting up the webcam functionality, but we are having issues with that in every place we try to use the "webcam" it just freezes after a few seconds (sometimes a minute or two). I.e., the camera feed on the LCD on the camera itself works just fine, but the camera on Zoom or OBS etc. just freezes after a very short while.
