I've found the Viltrox AF adapter to be brilliant. Fast enough AF, as the GFX isn't superfast to start with and the images from my Canon 40mm f2.8 are insanely good. Some vignetting but easily removed in post

Missing 23 videos .-) in this series. Looking forward to see how the Petzval performs with the GFX. Cheers.

How is the TS-24 on Viltrox? I seem to not get any sharpness. AF gives an error. But on manual f22 is still barely sharp

thank you for recording such a helpful video. I have to use a canon 17mm ts-t shift lens on 50r, but I don't have a whole Canon collection. Do you think I still need a 'smart' adapter like Viltrox to control the aperture? Or is there another cheaper option?

I think viltrox is the cheapest, the others are even more expensive. These adapters are a ripoff, but since it is a small and high end market they can charge a lot. If you don't have smart adapter you can only shoot wide open. For portrait lenses it might be OK for for 17mm TSE it is probably a no go. Another option (not recommended!!!) is to put the 17TSE on a canon camera, select the aperture you want, push down the depth of field preview button (the aperture will close) and while you keep pushing the button dismount the lens. It should dismount with the closed aperture. But this method is a massive pain in the butt and it might also be bad for the lens. If you have a 50r and 17mm tse I would recommend to spend the money on the adapter.

I have not played with it too much yet, but yes, it seems to vignette quite a bit.

@@matejphoto one last question: when you put a canon lense on the dumb non-AF adaptor, are you sure the lense will shoot wide open? or fully closed? (Because on Pentax and Nikon adaptors, lenses stay closes...) thank you

Hello ...! Would you tell me please if do you have some experience with the Viltrox EF-GFX PRO ..? I ve bought one recently and, Oh surprise , it seems to work OK, but ONLY in 3:2 aspect ratio, which is a deal breaker for me , and I ve found firmware update but just in Chinese . Danke sehr ...! used this adapter with my canon 70-200 2-8 is II and 80% of the shots are out of focus... feels like its some setting that's wrong?

That is very odd, I don't have the 70-200 EF anymore (went all RF for my L zooms). It should focus on the sensor so I am not sure how it is out of focus. Are other lenses OK?

I’m having serious problems with mine. Using it on my new GFX100s & EFs 35mm and not getting any autofocus and tunnel vignette. Aperture isn’t working whatsoever.

I have never tried it. The standard viltrox is still working fine so I have no reason to upgrade.

Interested in hearing about how the Viltrox adapter has held up?

Still works. But I have a lot of cameras so I dont use it daily.

Picture taken with the adapter and canon lens do not cover the entire sensor and auto crop to 35mm full frame. Need to turn off the auto crop of the Fuji Gfx camera in the setting.
