Fujifilm GF 500mm f/5.6 R LM OIS WR Review | The GF Lens We've Been Waiting For

This is it, this is the lens we've been waiting for in the GF system... a beautiful telephoto prime lens that is surprisingly lightweight and actually, pretty small for a 500mm. With stunning image quality and fantastic optical image stabilisation, this is an absolutely amazing addition to the GF lineup.

It's very back heavy and a little unwieldy with the teleconverter - but a lovely lens - tried it with my 100S and to be fair the AF struggled a fair bit.

5.6 makes it small and light. I would part with another $1000 for an extra half stop.

GF 500 That is only 200mm on my m4/3rd stuff. However the Big advantage of the GF lenses is the Great image production esp with a 100mpx camera you can crop to your delight with very little image quality loss. So this lens with crop almost equals my older MZuiko 300 F4 but is slightly heavier. I switched to the GFX system about 3 years ago and can't wait to buy one. Thanks again for the enthusiastic review of this lens.

You can crop to m43 dimensions and have 800mm vs 600mm on the oly 300f4. So you get more reach and have a much wider fov to get the shot.

The setup the best comparable would be probably a Sony a1 with the Sigma 500 5.6. And that combo is almost as heavy. How on earth did Fuji achieve this??

This lens is not impressive at all….This is just a 400mm f4.5 full frame equivalent….nikon already has that lens even cheaper

Man, this is exactly what I've been wanting. It's a bit too pricey for me at the moment, but I will be seriously looking to buy it in about a year or so.
