At last some help on audio, which according to those that know' is one if not THE most important factors on video, weather its background music or vocal tone ITS a biggie.

Hi, David. Greetings from Ukraine! :))) Thanks for your videos. I listened to you how the Deity V-mic D3 microphone sounds and once again realized that this microphone, frankly speaking, is quite weak compared to the Rode Video Mic Pro, which I have been using for 5 years. I really like the way it works in conjunction with the X-T3. Deity V-mic D3 attracts with its low price, no more.

one thing is missing here in this video . Mic level will be not on the screen even if marked when previously indicators has been changed to large. Indicators has to be standard -small size to see microphone levels on the LCD panel . Otherwise you won`t see mic levels at all.

Very true but not sure how many people actually use large indicators as I don’t think I ever have.

Hi Dave, thanks for the guide - very useful. My XT4 manual says no to powering mics from the camera. So I need a battery powered one - bigger and heavier. I checked the manual for your XT3 and it says the same. But it seems you have unpowered mics working ok. I don't want to waste money on the wrong stuff - how do you see this manual says no vs your practical experience? Sorry I'm a bit late to this channel.

A powered mic is a mic that requires 48v to operate which the camera cannot supply but a unpowered mic is one that only needs 5v or less to operate which the camera can supply.

Hi yes the g80’s audio is good that’s what I used as my main audio capture when I first started using the g80 it records in aac and Dolby digital depending on which video format you are filming in.

Hi the only thing in the camera settings I can think of that might do that is the wind cancelling setting, don’t believe anything on the mic would do it but have never used that mic so can’t be sure.

Sorry but not sure what you mean by the lcd deletes the info if you mean the audio meters that you adjust they are only present while you adjust them you have to enable audio meters in the custom display settings to monitor them.

Bought X-T4 the other day and was disappointed with the quality of sound recording. I was using Lav Mic and there was pretty loud noise heard, while on my small Sony RXM7 there was none whatsoever. Am I doing something wrong or it's just the thing with Fuji?

If it is the noise floor causing it then it is the X-T4’s preamps which are ok but not that good you can try turning the camera preamps down to we’re the meters are just above the -20db mark other than that you will need a mic with adjustable gain control so that you can turn the camera preamps right down or a external recorder which is what I use.
