I ended up skipping most of the opening sequence by jumping out the window, took me a couple of tries to go through the 'intended' route

22:24 important missed context here: Jerma threw this unconscious woman at a thug four separate times while the big bad was monologuing resulting in Nightwave not reprimanding Jerma until now. Twenty seconds after throwing a woman into a henchman on the stairs and he can't fathom why someone would be upset with him.
