    So three things: - To get the assembly out of the tank, there are also three pins to press on the outter body. - Filter was stuck with a bolt between the plastick and the pump. I had to kind of break it loose. - Don't forget to secure the lid with the gummy ring around the lid, and make sure the lid is TIGHT. I didn't properly attach the gummy ring to the lid, and filled up my tank full. Next thing I know, out comes five to seven liters of gasoline running out of the tank, because the lid was leaking.

    All right .. I see . Well I would just messure the exact diameter of the hole ( where the cover goes ) and double check with the seller the right dimension ; You can even go ahead and ask multiple sellers to be sure you're buying the right item . here are some links I found : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-CORSA-D-E-FUEL-PUMP-TO-FUEL-TANK-SEAL-RING-GASKET-GENUINE-NEW-/162198049354 or this online shop is the one I use ; you can add your exact vehicle and search for the gasket : www.autodoc.co.uk/car-parts/seal-fuel-sender-unit-15134/opel

    do you meen the black plastic top cover ? or the metal ring that holds the assembley pressed ? If it's that ring try with some lubrication on the contact points and make sure that you pull it in the right direction . Also if it's possible have someone to apply presure on the assembley while removing the ring .

    I would change the temperature sensor with the 2 contacts, look if the the spark plugs are too old, if the spark plug cables have a bad isolation so that you habe sparks between engine and cable and maybe change the fuel filter.

    Very nicely explained, and I really appreciate the clear video from start to finish, with every step. I will need to do the same to my Opel Corsa C (2001). My father sais the principle is the same, but might be that the connectors and opening ring differ slightly. Have you done this to a Corsa C as well? I am preparing to change the piece myself. Your input might be helpful : ) Much appreciated, in advance

    Hei ! I am glad that you find it useful . About the fuel pump on Opel Corsa C from 2001 - I personnaly have not done any work on that model , but yes the principle should be the same . I won't be worry about major differences . The only thing which I found challenging is that top ring which should keep the assembley pressed . The dealership have a special tool only for that ring but it can be done with some screwdrivers and lubrication on that ruber ring though .. Identify each part or components that you don't recognize and try to find theyr purpose and how to dissassembley them . For ex: there should be 2 fuel lines , mark them with different colors , than you'll know how to connect them back . You can as well take pictures of every step you do dissassembley something so you'll know how to install them back . Make sure that you have some hose clamps to replace the old ones as they are single use only in most of vehicles . Good luck :) and if you have any questions let me know .

    Thank you. Good to know about the hose clamps. I'll buy a few new ones, just in case : ) About the rest of the tools you are using, besides the fuel pump which I will quite probably be buying tomorrow, I already have everything that's needed. I saw another material - with pictures and text, no video - where the hoses were tagged with a written paper tape. I might do the same, as this was my main concern, of knowing how to assemble everything back properly. Feeling a bit nervous, but after all the reading and documentation I've been doing, getting more confident :D Thank you for your support. Will let you know how it went. Some people will be out for a beer on May 1st, I'll be fixing my beloved teenage car : ))

    haha I see , well cars need some atention as well :) And one more thing : If the old- broken pump doesn't make any noise when you try to start the car , you might consider checking the fuse of the pump in some cases the fuse is blown up and the pump is ok . In that case , if you have a voltmeter just disconnect the electric connector from the pump (where the fuel lines are )and connect the voltmeter to the wires and try to start the car - it should get 12 v . Than you will know for sure that the pump is broken .

    From the symptoms I got, and all the male experienced advice I got, it's quite likely the pump. It gave up on me yesterday on the road, all of a sudden, as I was going within the legal km/h limit on a national road, and it suddenly stopped responding to when I set it into gear. Tried the 3rd, then 2nd, and even 1st, but only inertia helped me get to the side of the road. Then the engine refused starting completely, regardless of what we tried. The error codes given by the car were 0420 and 0170, but it appears that none of the issues raised by these errors don't result in a car not starting at all. Battery has been recently changed, fuel filter changed in December, and the interior lights were on upon door openings. I don't have an electrical measurement tool, it's true, but since the car has run smoothly over 170 000 km so far without a fuel pump change, this seems to be quite likely it.

    what is the symtoms of bad fuel pump on corsa B?

  • @doit_vehicles

    @doit_vehicles

    5 жыл бұрын

    One of the most common issue is when you rev up the engine to high RPMs and the car does not go as fast as it used ; or it does not even go to high RPMs . Also it might just suddenly die on the road while driving . If the car does not start at all and the fuel pump does not make any noise when you turn the key in the ignition than the fuel pump is completely dead . A fuel pressure test of the output fuel lines will tell with accuracy if the fuel pump is faulty or not

    @@doit_vehicles Many thanks. First registeted 2005 so... But I've ordered the whole thing -- Ridex Fuel Feed Unit 54€ to avoid complications. While waiting I'm practising putting this one back in, and as per usual I didn't take enough photos. (And I also scraped a bit of insulation off one of the thin wires pulling the connector off the block with pliers.) Watched all the vids in all the languages that pop up to get a visual clue: which way up goes the large green rubber ring, and which hose goes to the white plastic connection (pressure regulator?) under the lid. At one point I thought I'd lost a hose but it was hiding in the petrol. Btw, I don't like using nut/screwdrivers in such a dangerous setting so instead of using a metal collar would a strong zip tie be okay, or is that a no-no? For the bit of bare wire I was going to use liquid rubber but read that that's a no-no. Was going to zip tie some insulation around it... Your opinion would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    Hi there, i just had an issue on my opel corsa C fuel pump, sadly was on the road far from home and i had to call the insurance to pull it to an opel garage that is even more far from my home ( around 60 km). i went today to pickup my car but due "misunderstanding" between insurance and car garage the problem was found not fixed: result i have to go back tomorrow. they said to me that there were a rele failed that kept the pump running and burned it. result: 2 relais and fuel pump. the connector is the same u show in this video, problem that i have noticed is that when i turn the key on the first step (priming) on the connector of the pump i read 3,8 V not 12, while in the fuse box voltage was around 11-12 ( they even dried the battery damn). pump was disconnected so even if was fault no shorts between + and - of connector. happened to you too? or it must be 12 V once u turn on the key? couse then i have an issue on the wiring between fuse box and pump connector

    Hei ! It sounds like there might be a voltage drop on the wires . It should be 12 volt or 0 at the fuel pump connector . Here is a fuel pump test made on another car , but it's pretty similar : kzread.info/dash/bejne/qqyK2sSeYLy3gpc.html But why they asked for 2 relays ?
