Great video. I just did this two weeks ago. I did upgrade to a 98 ZJ tank, some jack wagon decided to steal my gas by drilling a whole in my stock tank. Figured I might as well do the pump while it was out. Delphi pump of course, I couldn't source a Bosch either.

Doing this job now. That tool would not budge my large pump retainer nut. I had some small 1x2x6 sections of oak wood. I used that against the top ribs on the nut and tap tap tap around it and it started to move. I got it about 1/4 turn then used the tool to finish up. Man that nut is HELL to get back on. Did have to use the tool for that right from the get go until tight. For those thinking you might not need the new filler hose forget it, mine was shot and I had to stop and order new hoses. After an entire day of looking I never found any better then what is in the link from outjeeping.

Been holding off on this fix for a few years. I've had to prime the fuel rail/pump by cycling the key on a few times but today the pump finally gave out as I tried to back out of the driveway. The irony is that I just replaced the fuel injectors a few days ago for the 4 hole upgrades. Honestly surprised it's lasted this long. I've heard the Carter brand is a decent fuel pump that holds up well and a fraction of the cost for Delphi/Bosch so I'm gonna give it a go. Anyway, thanks for the video!

@@BH-gh6qm seems to hold up well but I do have an issue with some pretty bad idle surging on cold start. It's really bad in cold weather to the point where it will die right away unless I give it some rpm for a few minutes until it stabilizes. At times, if i don't let the engine get to standard temp, i'll get some backfiring and loss of power\delay from 2nd-3rd gear. I'm certain it has to do with the injectors. I replaced the injectors at the same time as the pump when this issue popped up. Got some $50 Bosch 4holes from eBay so maybe one or more of them is faulty. I haven't had much time to test the voltage to see if that is the case. As far as the fuel pump goes, I'm sure that's not my issue as it fires right up. Sorry I couldn't be more definitive with your question but I'd say give Carter a go if you're looking to change yours out soon. Bought mine off of rockauto if i can remember correctly.

I've seen the Bosch pumps (67658) pop up a couple of times on rockauto in the past few years, so they're not completely discontinued, just likely manufactured in small batches (and sell out fast).

I would recheck your evap lines from the engine to the charcoal canister and to the tank. It's a common issue for them to break, rust out, or have cracked rubber at the connections. All of those can lead to the check engine light.
