Fuel Pressure Issues - Causing A Severe Lean Condition And Multiple DTCs!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Part 1 of 2. 1998 Ford F-150 with the 4.6 engine is having some drivability issues. This is a multi-problem vehicle. In this first part, I go over how I test and verify the fuel delivery system is operating properly. We will isolate the problem and show how to test the fuel pump with both a mechanical gauge and dive in a little deeper to inspect the fuel pump commutators with the scope! Be sure to like and subscribe to see further content! And I will leave a link below for Part 2 where I will be diving into the ignition system! Stay tuned!

Great work as always! A lot of people would have got hung up on the vacuum leak as the main issue. That pump waveform looked like an earthquake or something!😂
Good to see another video from you! Thanks for sharing!
THAT WAS GREAT ,,, HAVEN'T SEEN ANYONE USE THIS TEST IN A WHILE HOPE TO SEE MORE VIDEOS THANKS FOR YOUR TIME !!!!!!!!!!!
Solid work Bro. keep at it

Very well may be. This vehicle has multiple issues I will be going into more detail and discussing them in part 2! Didn’t want to overload this video with too much information. Wanted to focus on fuel delivery. Thanks for watching my friend!

@@sheerwillsurvival2064 thanks man! I’m excited for part 2. This is a great vehicle to showcase multiple issues causing drivability problems!
I swear you can hear the vacuum leak in the video.

Hey Jeff, you are definitely on to something. It’s hard to tell on the video because it was extremely windy outside. But I hear what you hear as well on film. This vehicle has multiple issues and suffering from a severe lack of maintenance all around for like the last hundred thousand miles lol.. I attacked this Fuel Pump straight away for a couple reasons. This trucks overall drivability is very poor. Just falls on its face under load. WOT Trim data did not indicate primary cause of a lien condition as a vacuum leak. And of course, the fuel pressure reading itself on the mechanical gauge definitely indicates a fuel delivery issue. But I will be diving into the other various issues this vehicle has in part 2! I did not want to make this video confusing by including ALL the issues causing the poor performance/power loss. Was really just trying to demonstrate testing the fuel delivery system. But I have already recommended to the client, the intake be resealed when I replace the seeping fuel line and fuel rail. I have also already recommended a tune up. However, I have not finished looking into the ignition system so don’t have full recommendations on that yet. Stay tuned part 2 will be a good one! Thanks for watching bro! 😎
