It is good to hear from Dan again. Always helpful. Question: my copy of the book ends at page 199. Does a newer edition exist?

Hi Dan where can I buy your book on solar power systems? , I bought you Electrical Fundaments book and 2 load pros one for my son and one for my tool box, we have trucks and equipment, the teachings in your book took the mystery out of understanding how an electrical system works and how to find the problem; you have saved us a lot of down time. So happy to see you back!

Nice video. The fuel gauge in my 1998 chevy truck doesn't work anymore and pretty much stays on full but sometimes will drop all the way to empty and then back to full. I guess I learned from this video that something in the system is shorted out and occasionally going open. Getting to the connector at the fuel pump is impossible without dropping the tank or lifting the bed off. In there a way to verify whether the short is in the wiring or inside the tank with the fuel sending unit?

So what you are saying Daniel is that you can use resistors to fill your truck with diesel?

Would this tool hurt controllers, like Ecm’s and other types of controllers found on equipment. In my realm of work all the modern equipment is ran with them and relays are not used so often. So if I used this to load up a ground and power circuit back to the controller will that hurt it? Also just checking the resistance back to controller to a rheostat?

It only loads voltage. But, it won't hurt anything - sensors down to 5V.

The. gauge is on the positive side and is a resistor. "Live" has no meaning. It has voltage.
