    Just looking at one of these for exact same use! Just took my old Arrma Senton 6S apart after leaving it a couple of years. Everything rusted and seized. Want something cheaper given the use! Thanks for the vid. Gonna pick one up.

    For steering I did a light tweak. Where you are pointing at 4:45. I undid that and added a thin nut between the metal ball and the servo saver arm. Lifts it just 2-3mm. Then the plastic part of the ball end sails over the blue ali part and gives you just that little bit more lock.

    Forgot to mention, great vid and really nice to hear your point of view as I too was considering changing the diff and shock oil. My servo just got stripped so I need to replace that but other than that it’s ready to go again. I actually had the same issue with the tyres but I drilled three 1mm holes evenly around each tyre centre to let the water out and it worked perfectly.

    Hey Barry, I bought one of these beasts a few weeks back and it really is tough. I had the same part break first time out and made my own to replace it. I also fitted my own top brace like the armour tube style as the rear shock tower was beginning to bend along with the chassis.

    Open the rubber seals and pack it with marine grease they should last longer in the conditions you run your RC's. I had a few bearings lockup on me, now in Chicago winters with salt all over the place no more problems.

    Nice one Barry. Great info. 👍 So Coz you drive on sand that why u did ur pins.. Not Coz they made of cheese. 😂 Was there oil in ur diffs wen took them out. Coz in my arrmas from new. We after check out the box. Just got my ftx dr8 last week an I can't belive how good it is an if you see my vid I'm in the snow freezing cold bashed it hard an hit rocks all sorts that day an never broke once. Brilliant car for the money. Any weak spots u found on theses besides the rear arm brace. 👍 Nice vlog buddy🇬🇧😀👍

    Ha ha, yeah I guess my sand and pin comment makes no sense 😅. There was oil in the front and centre, not much tho. The rear had a split gasket and was completely empty. It's picked up quite a lot of play in most the pivots, but that's to be expected I think. I'll be interested to know if the Typhon bottom arms would fit, they look very similar. She deffo rips for the money that's for sure. Thanks for the watch, keep your content coming!!

    Just ordered a DR8 for myself. Really helpful video, thank you! Will now soon be ordering the aluminium rear suspension mount and have a query re: which weight oils to buy. Would your recommendation of 50wt shock oil in the fronts, 20wt shock oil in the rears and 300K centre diff oil still apply for when using the standard shocks/springs? If not, then what would you advise?

  • @Wootts007

    @Wootts007

    I'm literally just rebuilding the car and couldn't remember what weight oil had used in the shocks so your comment has been well helpful. I'll be using the same oil on the rebuild for sure. Stock shocks are pretty much the same so you should be fine! Car is still running well!! For me, high viscosity center diff works well. Less front wheel ballooning and stable high speed. Under steer and lower speeds however it is a personal preference.

  • @sambagogo777

    @@Wootts007 Haha, you're welcome! Cheers for confirming that oils combo should be fine on a stock setup. 'Extreme bashing' isn't my cup of tea so my usage will be ripping this 6S RC mostly on grass and with the occasional small jump so my preference is for good handling and control as opposed to stiffening things up to cope with higher impact landings from big jumps. Some other KZreadrs use 500K centre diff oil in their DR8 but I think I'll go with the 300K you recommended.
