(Siren Starts at 0:29) Since today was my birthday & with it being very nice out, I decided to go on a siren trip with my uncle. My original plan was to go to Pocohantas to film their thunderbolt 1003 but my uncle didn't want to travel that far so we eventually settled on this thunderbolt 1000T in Colo. I didn't mind at all since I was needing a better video of this thunderbolt 1000T for a while now. Before arriving in Colo, I traveled 11 extra minutes to arrive in Collins so that I could place an audio recorder near their allertor to see if it would work or not. Then, I traveled another 11 minutes to get back to Colo so that I could film this thunderbolt 1000T. I arrived in Colo with only 8 minutes to spare so I had to pick a spot to film at fast! The spot that I originally wanted to set up at had a bunch of cars parked in the area so I had to reside to this spot. Not even 30 seconds after noon hit, I began hearing tones from my scanner. This definitely caught me off guard since it's very unusual for Story County to test on time. After Colo's tones roll by, this thunderbolt 1000T roars to life for a minute of alert. This isn't the loudest thunderbolt that I've ever heard but it definitely seems a LOT louder than the last time I heard it which was around 2 years ago! This video could've turned out better if the sun was behind me instead of it being to my right side but oh wells. I'm still happy with how this video turned out as I personally think it is my best video of Colo's 1000T yet! The good luck didn't stop there! After leaving Colo satisfied, I traveled back to Collins to retrieve my audio recorder. Upon arriving, I noticed that the allertor was facing a different position! Me being extremely excited & eager, I listened to my audio recording and finally heard what Collins' allertor sounds like. The good luck didn't even stop here!! After that, my uncle go some pictures of me next to the allertor, and then we started our drive home. On our way home we decided to stop by Zearing to see if their 2T22 was still inactive or not but when we got there, I noticed that the disconnect was in the "on" position, which meant that Zearing's 2T22 was active again! The fact that I got a better video of Colo's 1000T and found out at the same time that Collins' Allertor and Zearing 2T22 are up & running again is quite a coincidence yet, some of the best luck that I've ever had, especially on my birthday! I gotta say, I personally think that all of these awesome events happened due to birthday luck! Overall, today was one of the best days that I've ever had as a siren enthusiast! I wish I could always have such great luck! That's all I gotta say for now. Check out the info below!
