Great video! I struggle with the frumpiness fight. For the white jeans, I just found some at old navy called “Wow jeans”. I paired them with a button up gauze shirt. I loved the outfit but struggled with the shoes. I highly recommend the jeans, though!

As a woman in her sixties, I fought the idea that a front tuck could look good on me. I was wrong. I ran around wearing long tunic tops that I thought was hiding the "problem areas" of my body, but I was, in reality, focusing all the attention on that area. The front tuck is so much more flattering on me and gives me the correct proportions for my body.

So many women get so angry about the front tuck-but I really think they need to take a picture both ways and ask friends or family to give their input. When done right, it can be very helpful!

Great video! I like Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda style white jeans! The fabric does not contain polyester…only cotton and spandex! Fabric content is very important!

I've started buying petite or "cropped" tees and tops for jeans so I don't need to tuck. It's tricky to get them to hit at the right place but when they do SO MUCH BETTER.

I love that you shop at Walmart. Folks sleep on Walmart but you can get pretty nice things there. Target also has nice clothes. You don’t have to shop high end stores to put together great outfits.

I love this concept where you take us through how to kick our outfit up a notch!

I appreciate how hard you work daily even with a migraine. You are blessed; there is nothing wrong with your figure. Wear the shorts, show off your legs, and do not worry about a mom pooch. You don't have one. I know we all have our concerns about our bodies but you are too hard on yourself. You are beautiful!

My go to for white jeans are the Amanda pants by Gloria Vanderbilt.

A tip to hide a tummy is, tuck your top on the side or sides and let the fabric fall in the front and back. You show a bit of your waist on the sides and you dont notice your tummy😊 hope it helps

First time viewer here. As an almost 49 year old myself this video is cracking me up. Great advice but it just reminds me so much of all the things that were drilled in our heads. And especially when you said, "80's we weren't exactly known for their good fashion" In the segment to match your "colors". I said a big "amen". You are so real and relatable! You nailed this video on Frumpy. My friends an I look back an have actually laughed at ourselves for thinking how good we thought we looked in a outfit , but then died when seeing it in a photo. Finally a stylist that has called out puffy vests can add volume you to us ladies in unwelcome places so go for thin vests less bulky sweaters. Love this video! Before and after are so effective. You have a really healthy attitude, at the end of the day we just need to love ourselves and others.

I have the same Maroon 5 graphic T and I had it altered to a scoop neck. It is so much more flattering for my larger bust than the crew neck.

Love this concept! It helps me to think about how things can be worn differently to fix an outfit.

I like your advice because it's realistic and you buy low and high end items which is what I do. I am no where near as thin as you but I can still follow your tweaks and I appreciate that and you!

I so appreciate your take on styling! I am much taller and bigger sized than you are, but I have a very similar body shape. All the fashion sites I see are women who have to work hard to NOT look great! Very rarely do I see pear shaped or hour glass shaped people doing what you are doing, unless it's either very dressy or dramatic styling. I love the casual, but stylish vibe you create with your outfits. It's exactly what I am trying to achieve. I had a moment in time in my 30s where I felt like I could find lots of options in the stores and everything fit well and looked great on my body, but my body has drifted away from the ready to wear sizes in the stores, and I find myself struggling to find options that fit well and look good. This type of video in particular is so helpful to see how subtle tweaks can elevate the look. Makes me realize I need to start taking more photos to see what works and doesn't on my frame. Keep up the great videos!

Love front tuck, and waist definition! I tuck in workout clothes, pajamas, everything unless I’m cold on a plane then I’m a burrito. I would even tuck in that turquoise top a little farther to show off the belt and waist.

I found white Levi pull-on ankle jeans (I’m super petite) on Amazon and they are the best, most flattering white pants/jeans I’ve ever owned. Totally not see-through, which is always my litmus test for white clothing. I have to say that I own that green t-shirt from Walmart and I love it. I have red hair, so that color is super flattering for me. I totally get what you’re saying, but just thought I’d chime in since I own it and thought it was funny that you didn’t like it on you. I own the white and black one you like too. They’re just so affordable and easy to throw on for casual days! Thanks for all you do. I love your channel!!!

I use the front tuck almost every time I leave the house! In fact I often think it’s too much BUT at just under 5’ 1” I feel like I must! I do though LOVE just about everything you post all the time as we share so much of the same taste! Thanks so much for all your tips, Marnie! You’re the best! ❤

I love your posts because you are so refreshingly real!!!! As for white jeans, I have similar feelings. I do not like any jeans that are ultra tight in the thighs (and I don't have big thighs). Last year I purchased a pair of NYJD boot cut white jeans that I love! That's my recommendation. I always gravitate toward boot cut. This cut is more flattering on me. I feel like your legs need to be perfect for skinny jeans. (This is just ME! If you all love them, terrific! I say go for what you love and wear it! I don't love the baggy jeans look either.) I too, love booties. It's all I wear until I can wear a heeled sandal!

I'm short but I love white jeans, so I worked to find a way to wear them without looking even shorter. Here's what I learned. A pair of high waisted, slightly wide leg white jeans look great on me. I wear them long, with a light brown shoe that has a little heel. I wear a short top in a similar color like beige, or a white T shirt tucked in front. Add a short jacket, and white jeans can look really current and great in winter!

I feel your pain about white jeans!! I have decided that white skinny cropped look best on me. Old Navy Rockstar are my favorite rn. And since I have the mom pouch/ muffin top, I tend to wear them with tunics that I half tuck or front tuck. I have no butt so I don’t mind my shirt hanging over. I lost about 30 pounds during covid and I think it all came from my legs and butt. Sadly, not the kangaroo pouch. 😂 anyway, thanks for this great video. I often struggle with the “what I think/what I do” aspect of dressing and am always looking for ways to look just a little more put together. Keep up the good work!! White jeans- I highly recommend Crown & Ivy from Belk! Mid-weight, with a bit of stretch, no nurse vibes. I’ve got many pairs of skinnies and straights in all colors and love them! Unlike a lot of things from Belk, they don’t pill or look cheap, fit my round butt and waist at the same time, and have lasted nicely for over 3 yrs.

I'm TOTALLY WITH you on WHITE JEANS! I have 12 pair & only like ONE... they're MATCHSTICKS (in a 27 & I ALWAYS wear 26) Try that floral sweater with the white jeans & CUT the hem of the jeans unevenly & fray a little then wear with cute sandals with 2" heel... You'll love it!

Sing it sister…about the white jeans!!! I have never found a comfortable pair either and I’m a little curvy but by no means at all overweight. They’re just so much stiffer than other jeans.

Thick denim especially if it has spandex is not good. Try some white chinos. They won’t show lumps and bumps but have the casual look. Talbots has great ones.

I discovered your channel when you collaborated with Kelli and Christina. I’m 72 and only 4’11” tall but have the same type figure as you. I generally wear size 4 curvy fit and small sizes. I have the hourglass figure with the slight front pooch. So I identify with what you do except you are much taller. 5’2” here and I highly recommend high waisted flared or boot cut jeans with a tucked in shirt or the belly shirts! Ha they happen to come to the top of my jeans so it works and you don’t have the frumpy, cut in half look. It’s the best look I’ve had in jeans for years. I bought mine at Old Navy and if they come out in white I’ll be buying one for spring and summer.

Marnie the crop jeans look fantastic on you. My favourite. Love the sneakers. My favourite top, sweatshirt is always one that doesn't need any tucking, just falls at the upper part of the hips but a little room around the middle. I have a black one from Lululemon that has dolman sleeves and fits snug right at the hips. It's black, cotton & slightly textured. Perfect and not so tight that you see any mommy pooch. I have the same issue with my tummy. My favourite top of all. I avoid any tops with a kangaroo pouch, just exagerates the tummy issue. Also t shirts with cap sleeves or ruffles added that make our waist appear smaller.
