Frozen Shoulder- Dr. Hurt explains

Ғылым және технология

Frozen shoulder is a very commonly missed diagnosis. Dr. Hurt has made this diagnosis hundreds of times in his career. Each time he spends a good amount of time carefully teaching his patients exactly what this diagnosis means and how to resolve it. This video comprises that discussion and all the pearls/pitfalls that go with this condition. Hope it serves you well!

I had 2 injections and Lidocaine patches were the only thing that helped me sleep. This is a terrible condition and wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.

Thank you so much! I agree that education is everything. I was told it could take a year but i was never told a diagnosis. Apparently it’s difficult to diagnose but here you say that if the pain is not deep inside the front of the shoulder while attempting to do external rotation but instead it is in the lateral aspect of the shoulder then it is more likely to be a rotator cuff tear or tendinitis. I will discuss with my orthopedist in trying to figure out if cortisone will be helpful in either case. Great presentation doc! Thank you again. ❤

This is one great orthopedic surgeon. Thank you for such thorough explanation. Many clinicians automatically recommend PT evaluation. I found the typical exercises recommended by PT aren’t helpful to ‘thawing’ the tight muscles nor alleviating the pain during the first 2 stages. The steroid injection offers some relief (decreasing the inflammation).
