It really surprises me that the property still has power connected 😲😲 The property is in really good condition given its age. You have shown homes/mansions that have not weathered as well

I love this home, it is in great original condition. It is so full of style and character from that era! The 80s updates were nice. I love those bathrooms, and all the fantastic natural light flooding the rooms! It is a wonderful home! Cool explore!😎✌️

I love the layout of this house. Btw I have a house with gas&wood fireplace, my house was built in the late 40s. I have a master bedroom, spare bedroom& master bath built on later which was originally was a porch at one time. I have hardwood floors and ceiling throughout, they were covered with ugly 12x12 squares on the ceiling, found out as I tore the ceiling down to renovate . I just sanded, stained and polyurethane, the natural wood turned out beautifully. As I renovate I wonder what other surprises I'll fine.

Early 80's phone, I bet. Mom was too cheap to "upgrade" from a rotary lol. And Pella is (or was?) a really good-quality window/door company. The vertically-oriented windows with the crank at the bottom-totally 60's, and kinda hard to find now, unless you want to pay lots for replacement. And you're right about the large windows(the WALL OF WINDOWS), and the window orientation-although in northern climes, the windows were def not a good thing-it was hot at f in the summer, cold a f in the winter. (But the natural light? yasssss. BEAUTIFUL). Oh, and gas(and electric) fireplaces were possible the 60s, but really pretty uncommon (unless I'm mistaken). Ooooh!! and the recessed brass closet door pulls-- Sorry. Being completely dorky and cruising down memory lane. You do wonderful work, Mr. Ethan. Thank you so much.

You can tell it is a mid century home from the proportions of the rooms, the adaptable partition doors and the wonderful windows that make it feel twice as large. this one was really upmarket for that time. the color scheme was probably all pastel soft hue . A shame it is someday going to disappear. Cheers for the season, Ethan.

I love this house and it’s layout and spaciousness and it’s style. My favorite era of house. I love all the sunshine coming through the back portion of the house, all of its warmth and light. Nothing like it on a cold winter day and it would be made even better with the sunlight reflected off the snow. The view back there was amazing with the large property and all of the trees way back. I like the kitchen and that large living room with the fireplace although I can’t figure out why they would put the fireplace so off center. Liked the unique wrought iron divider between living and dining rooms. Like the big room with fireplace on the lower level. There didn’t seem to be any decaying or damage even though house was empty for a while and 63 years old. Nice large pool. I would love to have and live in this house. Would love to have that old style parquet flooring throughout. Love the older style bathrooms. I might even paint the ceiling blue but leave all of the blue tiles which were in amazing shape. Why tear a home down if it seems to be made so well!? My house was built in 1953 and I can’t imagine it being torn down. Another cool house Ethan that I thank you for sharing. Glad to hear that you’re feeling better. Take good care of yourself be well and be safe. Wishing a Happy Christmas to you and your loved ones!

I liked this house. Imagine it in it's heyday. I've watched all of your videos at least once, and tbh I can't always remember everything about each one. Still, I'm surprised that I don't remember seeing the wrought Iron gates that separate the dining room and living room. I just love it. I also don't remember seeing the hidden wetbar in the basement. Those are two distinct design elements that we haven't really seen in other house you've shown from the same era, and you have shown a lot of homes from that era. I'm glad you're feeling 💯.

Ethan, you are so right and introspective , it is crazy to think that so many could afford a nice house like that in the 50’ and 60’s on one job. And being born in 1961, I remember people having that option that if the husband made enough money then the wife wouldn’t have to work. I never thought about that much after say the 80’s, I guess by then the man would have to be rich for the wife not to work. I guess that’s all the “ Housewives” shows the last ten years that give me that idea. It might be plenty of wives that are not rich that don’t have to work, like wives of lawyers, execs, doctors, etc.

Hi! In the States when you had an entry like this house I believe it is called a "split level". A ranch is just one level ....livingroom in front , garage on one end, kitchen and dining behind livingroom and a hall on opposite end from garage to bath...and bedrooms. A bungalow I believe is boxy in shape one level. This house was nice with a really nice kichen...livingroom.

Glad you are feeling better. I like the neutral colour of this house that metal patterned door is very nice but not suited in a cold country however the reflection from the pool and heat from those large window would pull the warm air through those metal opened doors toward the rest of the house. That next room has its own large window. I love large windows with lot of lights. The metal door needed oiling to stop the squeak Ethan. Great video thank you.

Ethan I hope you get 100% better soon. I can see it in your eyes that you have been sick. I like watching your videos. You think things from way before you were born are cool. I think the push button phone was very popular back in the early 80's. I always had one because the cord could be stretched into another room while you talk. I live in a apartment that was built in the 70's & there is still the big "hollywood" lights over the bathroom mirror just like that first bathroom. We had our milk delivered growing up but it was always left on our back steps. Get well soon!!

I certainly am unaware of any gas fireplaces in 1960. It was definitely an above-average home for 1960, and more than a little, too. Thanks for the tour. Another shame.

Really enjoyed this explore! Very nice home! So very sad they just tear them down! From US. FYI, the Pella brand is known for good quality and a high price tag. I’m laughing as that original Maytag washer is the exact one I have! It has lasted decades! They don’t build them like that anymore. I would love to have that beauty shipped to me, LOL! Kitchen Aid another very high quality and expensive brand. That house has so much potential. It’s lovely and really livable in it’s current state. We here in the states would call it a bi-level. So glad you’re feeling better and enjoying your explore experience. We certainly are!

I really liked the fireplace very old school,it looked alittle copper color on the chrome. Anyway ya I remember my grandparents having those flower curtains similar to those lol and the kitchen looked kinda big. I liked how the folded door still works that’s cool to. Overall not bad even tho most areas are just damaged from being old. Well anyway I hope you have an awesome Christmas and a happy new year to,hope you have a wonderful time with your friends and family 🎄🏡😎🏎Stay your awesome self😁 and see you in 2024😄
