Disney’s Frozen was the highest-grossing animated movie of all time (until it was beaten by Disney’s The Lion King in 2019) so it’s only natural that we ended up getting a sequel. Frozen 2 brings Elsa, Anna, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven back to the big screen for another adventure.
The movie definitely raises a lot of questions though. Like how do you follow up a film that ended with “they lived happily ever after?” Why is Kristoff even in this movie? What’s Olaf up to other than trying to sell merch to kids? Why is this movie filled with so much exposition? What’s up with all the Northuldra and Arendelle soldiers being introduced, only to do practically nothing story-wise?
To answer all these questions and more, step inside the pitch meeting that led to Frozen 2! It’s super easy, barely an inconvenience!

Both spending too much and getting too much too. Like the Renaissance died purely because they wanted to expand on literally every front, just like now. Their problem there tho is people hate greedy disney. People love what disney owns. So just own everyrhing.

That's actually not it. The dam was kept in touch, in order for the Arendellians to have the courage to tear it down. They knew that one day the off springs of Iduna would come to arrive to the Enchanted Forest that way they would redeem themselves, and They would be the ones to break the dam. Arendelle needed to pay for the sins of their past king. But once it was decided that Arendelle had nothing to do with the bad faith of the king and choices that he's made, they had 0 reason to lose their homes. So they just let Arendelle stay.

Dear goodness, no more Disney remakes. There's nothing worse then a large corporation, that's well known for making very good movies, (Frozen excepted because I don't like it), not listening to its fans. Say what you want about the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, but at least Paramount listened. I'm not arguing against corporations, or even large corporations because I'm not a communist, but at the same time part of a market economy, involves we the consumers, if we stopped seeing the remakes, they would stop making them.

Also, while ice is frozen water, Elsa's powers seem to have at least as much to do with the frozen part as the water part, which would make them more fire powers (because they have to do with heat) than water powers. Though in another interpretation, as solid water, ice falls under the solid element, earth. Not sure where air comes in, though her power to create life seems to be tied to air - the breath of life, and all that.

@@kh6853 maybe you should know a bit about the topic before you get snarky. the Nokk is not just a horse. It's a magical water spirit, which existed in mythology long before Disney put it in Frozen. Also, glaciers come in all sizes. I have been wandering in Lappland - which inspired the Frozen landscape - and some glaciers are enormous, while others are only a handful of acres. In the end of the movie, we see her ride the Nokk incredibly fast from the middle of the forest to Ahtohallan - on land. It can be assumed the Nokk was many times faster when Elsa rode it in its element - the river.

I'm surprised there wasn't a mention of how the point of the first film was that Elsa belonged in Arendelle with her sister but then in the second movie the writers were like, "Nah, never mind. She was closer to her real purpose before. She's supposed to go north by herself and live surrounded by ice."

Did we watch the same movie? Elsa is not alone. She ends up living with the Northuldra, surrounded by the spirits, and she has frequent contact with Anna through letters. The sisters support each other, while living in different ways which fit each of them.
