I Went out shopping and filmed way too much, so I have split it up into a few parts.

It’s refreshing to see a classic used in winter.😊

I'm so pleased to see that rover in such good shape and it's great to hear the purring of that six cylinder once again, familiar from years gone by. I've had quite a few p4 rovers and they're really quite unique. I learnt to drive in an 80, it's long gone now but lovely to see this one, it really is a credit to you.

My favourite videos by far are of Jesse. Only because I've had two 1955 90s in the past. She brings back great memories. ❤️

Wow Alex to think I was only there recently, the amount of ice and snow is a world away from here. We get frost but hardly ever like that. love the coat 😍

Off to Gloucester we go! We had a right dumping of snow over Worcestershire way also. Glad it’s nearly all gone.

I must say I do like your coat, you look lovely! Today, where I am located in upstate New York, 🌨, ☔, an absolute mess! The roads do have slush, but I'm being a wimp as I do not want to put on my socks and wellies (Hunter, of course!) to go outdoors in the mess! I bet Jessie has stories of years past in 🌨 deeper than what you and I have! Cannot wait for Part 2! Stay safe, and know that warmer weather is coming!

Alex, that was a nice drive in very bad condition, I liked doing that when I was younger like you, not now I'm old. Keep safe and keep up the good video's etc. Thanks Bob

Hi Alex, There is something nice about seeing a classic out in the snow. I used to use a school car-park nearby to practice my hand-brake turns on a Sunday when closed of course. With plenty of space it's good fun and a great experience in handling, everyone should try it.

You chose the right car for bad weather other than a 4WD the only other cars I rate in winter, at least in this vintage is 53/54 Rover 60 or 75 and the VW Beetle. For getting through serious snow when you have to I found the early P4's have the edge. You're right to keep your P6 off the road till the weather gets better, the long wheelbase will undermine you at every turn, and if you end up in a ditch, unlike a P4 you won't be able to even try to reverse out. Rubbing methylated spirit into the windows and mirrors should keep the ice off, it may take more than one go but it works well if you keep at it. Some people may argue that it can seep into the rubber seals and cause a leak in the wet, I never had that issue but you can always be a bit conservative around the edges or rub a little vaseline in the edges first. After dark there may be a little haloing from other car or street lights but I never found that to be a problem. I have one question how are the new tyres performing on Jesse. Having always been a Rover P4 nut, I always enjoy the videos of you enjoying your beautiful car, so thanks for that and Happy New Year.

That’s a lot of old Heavy Metal to warm up after a deep freeze ! Presumably in period there would have been oil changes twice a year with differnt grades for summer and winter ? Great video….

Hi Alex, Well handled despite the slippery conditions...I'm surprised your Council doesn't grit your side roads, they do here in Suffolk...however I always salt my drive way as it's on an upward slope to the garage, otherwise I couldn't get up it. It might pay you to spread some salt on your drive way so you don't slip over when on foot. Don't want you hurting yourself... Take care, Jon B.

well, since the Viking sign is present, snow and ice are actually home elements for Jesse. can I suggest being a bit more aware about broadcasting where you live tho? you can never be too cautious with these things. (I hope I dont sound a bit threatening by suggesting this, I'm new to the channel and this is the first ever video I have watched. I heard about your channel in Up n Down's 24h stream for Sophie's Legacy) cool content! (no pun intended)

Our Morris minor was the same the other morning, the fuel pump seemed to take ages to prime then my girlfriend gave her full choke , usually she starts with the key turned between 2 and 4 seconds but it was -3 so was closer to 7 or 8 seconds before she fired up , 1st try I may add which is very unusual, she usually likes 2 or 3 attempts from cold , she was also turning over slower than she normally does so guessing that’s cos the oil was very thick , but just like your rover she’d been running a few seconds then just conked out , she needed another 2 lengthy turns on the key before she started again , she was fine after that apart from having to keep the choke out for ages to stop her conking out , starting then dying after a few seconds followed by 2 or 3 try’s to restart her is common with our Moggy but only when it’s VERY cold , say between 0 and -5 , any idea why they do it ? or any idea why Jessie did it ?

The oil in the dashpot and engine is so thick so I imagine it all gets too much to turn over and keep going.

@@Alexsassets that’s all we could come up with , do you think if you’d given her some revs once she’d started she’d have stayed running ? , not sure what Jessie is like but our Moggy can flood pretty easily if you give her gas while turning the key , I’m guilty of doing that if my partner gets a lift to work and leaves her for me to use, between not getting the choke at the correct setting and a few try’s and she hasn’t started I can tend to stab a bit at the accelerator, sometimes she’ll start and other times I’ll flood her , I am only 26 , my girlfriend is 52 , she’s had more practice 😂
