Plus, in Alakazam the Great (which changes Sun Wukong's name, despite the fact he already got a name change before) Herlang Shen was renamed to Hercules; so it feels like this death battle was done to make up for the lack of a REAL Hercules vs. Son Goku battle.

Wukong can most definitely beat Goku. Even if they were at equal stats, Wukong's trickery, immortality, and VAST number of lives means Goku would die LONG before he can even come close to truly killing Wukong.

That game animation in Sun Wukong's background is actual gameplay footage for a brand new game in development that will be coming out next year called Black Myth: Wukong. I can't wait to see more of it and get the release date of it cause frankly, the game looks awesome.

Believe it or not Hades isn’t exactly the god of death. He just manages the Underworld. Thanatos is the one responsible for death. As long as Thanatos was around people died. A temporary moment where people were impaled or suffered something fatal and were still unable to die was when Sisyphus tricked Thanatos causing him to be locked away in a trunk if I remember correctly. Check out the KZread channel Overly Sarcastic Productions for historical and mythological stuff. They even do tropes

Also his absurd strength of not only lifting up infinity, but doing so on one shoulder, while carrying another mountain on his other shoulder and STILL being able to move at the speed of a meteor.... not even Superman could reach that level of strength.... and that is not even considering his ability to move so quickly that he can reach the edge of the universe in a single second with a single leap.

We all know there was only one way Heracles got close enough to the hydra in order to take it down, he had to… GET UP ON THE HYDRA’S BACK!

Hmm. . . Who's more mischievous: *Sun Wukong, the Monkey King (I think he's supposed to be seriously skilled in martial arts); or *Jack Frost, the personification of Winter itself?

I did not know that you (well, your character) are a disciple of a reincarnation of Sun Wukong. During the bit on the arrow to the sun, I'm surprised that you didn't react to the fact that Heracles *somehow* managed to acquire a bow with a draw weight suited to his strength, as a fraction of a fraction of his strength is more than enough to completely shred a standard warbow.

If it’s any help: There is a PlayStation game in the works called black myth son Wukong. And it seems to be a God of war style game where you play as the monkey king.

Just imagine how much child support Zeus would need to pay these days. Heracles had 51 Children!? ...Something from his fathers side, huh. As for Goku vs Wukong, Goku has... One way to technically beat Wukong. Mafuba. But other than that, Wukong would win... But let's be fair those two would be fast friends.

@@FrostTheHobidon Heck, Popeye has no limit, because we had two major examples. One from Famous Studios where they disintegrated him, but his spirit is not evaporated; and one from Bud Sagendorf, where the Big Guy of the 11th Dimension turned off reality, but Popeye ignored such logic.

And people say Darkside vs Thanos or Beerus vs Galaxia were the Death Battles of the gods, also I’m hoping we get Odysseus vs Sinbad soon.

My current favorite iteration of Heracles is from the Record of Ragnarok manga. Though the creator of the manga gave us something pretty different, I liked the character Heracles in the manga.

You asked what that animation is. It's from the animated movie The Journey to the West: Reincarnation of the Demon King.

Yeah that missed up seeing Hercules accidentally killed his wife and son's. Which Harare tricks Hercules thinking there are enemies which that a low blow move on Harare right there.

18:00 FYI that wierd effect footage is from the journey to the west tv show produced back in the 80`s, which was continuously put on air in summer year after year in the 90`s. And that made it a lot of kid`s childhood memories in both China and south asia.

No, Hercules did not beat up Hades. It’s a common misconception, Hades is the god of the dead and governs them in Tartarus, but he is not the one who collects the souls, that job belongs to Thanatos, who works under Hades and is the one who lost to Hercules. So to make it clear, Thanatos is the Greek grim reaper, while Hades is the Greek Devil Even though Hercules didn’t beat Hades, beating Thanatos is no easy feat. Thanatos still brings death, and Hercules had to fight him hand to hand

I didn’t mean Hades was a horrible being And yes, Hades is certainly better than his brothers, and he never cheated on his wife. In fact, he is the god of riches since precious minerals are buried underground which is why miners pray to him for good fortune

@@James-nr2hi Makes me wonder what it would've been like if Thanatos was the real bad guy, and that Hades was just doing his job keeping watch of dead people, but isn't afraid to partake in his brother's parties; I mean, the Disney film even had Zeus being so openly inviting to have his brother join, yet Hades refuses to join. If anything, they made Hades come off as a dick. The thought of Hades being a ruler of the underworld, loved by miners for providing material, and being invited to Zeus' parties sounds like a cool contrast to Thanatos, who is more of a big brute that works as Hades' second in command, yet is doing bad stuff in the world behind Hades' back, and making Hades' life a living... well, hades. It would also make Hades more relatable by having it be like he's sending his strongest monsters to test Hercules' strength, yet Thanatos would be too busy getting ready for the uprising with the Titans.

Wukong’s Power Level is over 9000 and beyond.

The funny thing is: Wukong enjoyed looking after all the creatures in the stables, literally the only problem was it ranked him at the bottom. They could have just changed the ranking for the job to a high one, and they'd have had no problems whatsoever.

Do you know what's scary? The art of 72 transformations wukong can do doesn't give him 72 transformations, it gives him the ability of BOUNDLESS transformation. He can turn into ANYTHING except anything omnipotent, this includes a version of himself as powerful as any opponent he is fighting, yea... Sun wukong is broken. And the 72 things? The 72 represents the number of extra lives the ability gives. On top of all his layers of immortality, you have to somehow kill the monkey 72 times before he croaks. And he can multiply with each clone also being able to transform the same way. TLDR: sun wukong is the embodiment of a BROKEN character.

@@FrostTheHobidon Here's something that caught my attention: All those peaches that Wukong ate? Each of them have 3,000 years of life. He ate 1,200 trees worth of those, each of them carrying around 200-400 Peaches (let’s say it’s around 300 Peaches on every tree), meaning Wukong gains 1,080,000,000 years of life!

Overly Sarcastic Productions does great videos on myths and legends that cover Heracles's stories even better than the admittedly ok job DB did. Things they got wrong: hydra blood isn't fatal to gods in most versions (the entire point at the end of his story is burning away the weak mortal bits, and leaving the divine bits that the hydra blood couldn't kill), and I'm pretty sure the bells that Heracles used were used to startle the birds into the air so he could shoot them down rather than being fatal noises on their own.

i think that final win image is Hero is Back... not 100%, but it feels right. Edit: i was half right. it's from Monkey King Returns. i think it's a sequel

He didn’t die, more like he passed on to a new body when he reach a certain age. I want to take elements from Sun Wukong A Hero Reborn, Tezuka’s Sun Wukong, Lego Wukong, and Journey to the West animated series

Yeah, thousands of peaches of immortality (each one extending life by a few thousand years), 5 gourds full of immortality pills (each granting I think even more millennia of life than the peaches), some wine of immortality (I think it was more millennia of life than the peaches, but less than the pills). None of them was supposed to grant even as much immortality as the elves in Lord of the Rings had, but fusing them together might have done it.

I was thinking about a story called Superman vs the Monkey King. It is like the story of the Monkey King but in a DC fashion. The Story goes that Zeus and the New Gods have sent Superman on a mission to contain the Monkey King. After exhausting all methods, Superman then summons the Source itself to contain the Monkey King. The next part of the Story is that the Justice League is the Monkey King's parole officer as he makes a literal journey of redemption.

Wait, it was originally supposed to be only 10 Labors?

@@marmyeater The DC cosmology is much crazier. There is a infinite number of universes (each of them likely infinite in size), and each universe has an infinite number of alternate timelines. That's basically an infinity on top of another infinity. This is without mentioning the several higher dimensions, starting with the 5th dimension all the way up to infinite dimensional spaces.

While Death Battle was wrong about Mt. Sumeru holding the heavens and thus wrong about about Wukong's strength, I think Wukong still wins by stealing the Hydra Poison Arrow and maybe by fire.

If you want me to explain how I think Sun Wukong would win, he will use one of his many ways to take Herc's poison arrow and use it against him to incapacitate Herc. And since Herc died by funeral pyre, Wukong can use fire to kill Herc's mortal side.

Even then, he still scales to the Yellow Wind Demon's feat, plus a statement from Sun that he can grow large enough to fill the universe, which isn't that big of a stretch considering he's shown he can make his staff grow to the point where the upper end can reach heaven and the lower end can reach the 18 layers of hell.

The Gods do lots of messed up stuff but people seem to forget that in just about every religion or mythology there was incest among deities because they don't have disabilities when inbreeding since they're divine beings. Also these religions were made in the early ages when incest was normal, only became a problem in modern society when science told us this was really bad for human health over all.
