The camera angles, measurements, torque specs and no background music was perfect. Thanks so much for this video mate.

Thank you for this video, and mentioning you don't have to take the hub nut off if you are careful to not let the lower control arm drop too far. I don't have a torque wrench that goes over 150 ft/lbs.

Great job, good camera work too! I wouldn't recommend anyone to off the cv shaft nut, unless you have experience, I took it off and didn't have a big torque wrench, just torqued it with a long pipe and had no idea how extremely tight got to be, and in the first corner came loose and messed up my wheel bearing too. So don't play with that.

Proper torque can be quite important but yet a lot of newer mechanics dont ever pick one up. You can get torque wrenches on sale for $20 all the time at harbor freight and will save you from stuff like that. So sorry to hear, thats scary.

You made that look easy. Compressing those springs should be left to professionals like yourself, they can really do some damage if they come loose. Another great video. ✌🏻

Hi sire, i notice the ride quality in my mazda2 2012 is very harsh, is it because of a bad strut?

When you were replacing the shocks you marked the springs so you could install them in the same position when you put things back together, if you install new springs how do you know how to position them.

I use those marks to align the top bushing/mount, other than that, the spring can only sit one way in the groves of the shock insert but if youre worried like I always am lol, just mark the middle front and transfer the mark to your new spring.

Does this car require an alignment after changing those? Didn’t seem to be any cam bolts in use on the knuckles.

I had mine changed with the same KYBs. The passenger side strut seems to be creaking now when turning the steering and parking. Any ideas?

Did you change the top mount/bushing? It could be that.

  • @petegangies

@MegaMilesBen yes, I used brand new KYB mounts and new protection kit with boots and bumpstops.

@petegangies Id check to make sure the spring and bottom isolator are sitting properly. If so, it may be a faulty top mount/bushing. If the noise wasnt there before, then its in the assembly parts. The shock insert wouldnt make that type of noise.
