The West Indies were powerless to stop a rampaging Glenn McGrath at the Gabba in 2000 as the champion Australian fast bowler claimed an incredible 6-17 and 4-10

Yes it is terrific bowling, but it also reminds me just how good the Aussie slip cordon was. I think it peaked late 1990's when they had Healy, Taylor, MWaugh, Warne. Extraordinary lineup behind the stumps. Never been a more reliable setup. They could also call on Ponting Martyn Langer and especially Hayden who was superb at slip to spinners. Personally i'd have MWaugh at midwicket and Ponting at cover. Crazy good team with the ball in hand.

Glen McGrath is biggest chutiye of all time with his cheap and disgusting sledging skills. What he said to The Sarwan and Brain Lara I will never forget that. Thank God he didn't say this to Yuvraj Singh or his jaws and Bones will be broken completely. That level of Sledging is not right at all in cricket sport actually. Thank God he didn't said this to Pathans,Virat Kohli,Harbhajan Singh, Gautham Gambhir,Yuvraj Singh and Shahid Afridi like that.
His line and lenght is very consistent

@@grunthostheflatulent9649 true that. He was so metronomic in his action. When you watch that beautiful rythmic action ball after ball it puts your mind to ease I guess.
It's not only about these deliveries but the work he has done before them. Same line ,same length ,putting batsman in complete confusion and then pitching these gems. True legend..
Those days when it was a batting pitch when Australia batted and bowling pitch when Australia bowled.
All-day long I can watch Mcgrath bowling what a Legend he was....
Gilchrist was some keeper, wow. Mc Grath a legend!
McGraw is one of the best line and length bowler you can watch troubling the best batsmen with his immaculate bowling skills. In bouncy tracks like Australia, south Africa, he's more than handful. Definitely, one of the all time greats.👍👍👍👍👍👍.
Never seen a simpler bowling action, won't be surprised to find out he only dreams of rolling his arm at the strip.
He is the only bowler bowls with so precise and accuracy. He proved a bowler can bowl on any surface with this method to get wickets. I have not seen him bowling any lolly pops to the batsman

This guy was not known for pace as much as compatriots are but he made a special place of himself in Aussie team due to his Uncanny accuracy and precision of the way he used to deliver every ball ....it was special to see a player like this who taught every budding pacer that it's not necessary to become thunderbolt pacer like Lee,Starc,Tait, Gillespie to be get into the International arena.... To overcome that ability of bowling fast (spcly who is having fragile body) u must contain the ability of delivering each with perfect variation with uncanny accuracy level .... Blessed to be born in that era (90s kids) 😊
Magical McGrath! No bowler will ever, repeat, ever meet his consistency.
The best EVER, Iv'e watched many exhibition with Glen and he never failed to impress... even an exhibition T20 where he had figures of unheard of... runs less than wickets

Lara was McGrath's bunny. Lara had a lot of weakness against good quality seam and swing bowlers. He also struggled against genuine quicks. Against spin bowling, he was a genius.

People say Marshall,Wasim are bigger fast bowlers and were more talented but there is no one greater than Glenn McGrath!! A true legendary bowler ever born in the planet not just legend for me the God of bowling Glenn mc Garth he was having everything pace bounce swing unbelievable bowler on the planet .
While others would get you out with pace, incredible swing or just intimidation, McGrath was like a surgeon. He would eviscerate you with such precision that you would feel that he has taken out your intestines without you noticing and then you would forever fear facing him again. Just an amazing bowler, right up there with the very best that have ever played the game.

The batsmen of 90s had to endure, McGrath, Ambrose, Akram and Donald. What an era
Just realized that the current Australian team is nothing like this Australian side of the past.
Feel lucky I saw this spell live on tv
How good was Gilly!
Gilly deserves as much credit as McGrath. He was simply brilliant behind stumps.

What a kalyug period of cricket we are witnessing. Every batsman is crossing 40 avg. If it continued, an avg of 50 would become common in one decade. In 90s, even crossing 35 plus avg was considered very good, only top level batsman were able to reach around or over 40 then.
The day West Indies saw dust by Steve Irungu Jermaine
Sure this was a top bowling performance, but have a look how green and bouncy that Gabba pitch was. They were pretty ideal conditions for a bowler like McGrath who could play the odds putting it in the right spot every time and presenting the seam upright so it did all the work. After all judging by the scoreline it looks as though other bowlers in that Aussie attack had a happy time too.
