Chris, your channel is such an inspiration. I am a musician myself, I do band work, I am sitting less behind my PC to make music. But your words of inspiration goes beyond the ambient style of music. You make beautifull music while recording these videos. It gives me a lot of inspiration for my own music (which is not ambient, more rock). I might even try to start with ambient myself, your videos are such an inspiration. Thank you, for what you do !!

I love you. I've been producing music for a year now and have tested quite a few genres (first phonk, then trance, then psytrance and then future garage). Funny thing is that privately I am a total astronomy enthusiast and can spend hours discussing the origin of the universe. Ambient is soooo cool. I hate club music anyway, with techno for example I could never do anything. I love this dark atmospheric shit, I'm pretty sure I'll never want to try anything else. But I won't produce ambient without drums, after 2 minutes of mysticism I'll start with soft drums. That's exactly what I love.

the best thing is you dont have to follow any rules and the complexity of the tracks will not cause ear fatigue (in past I made nice phonk melodies and they got instant boring because that was the only melodic part of the track)

thank you for making the music that is in my head happen right in front of me over the lenght of this video. IIt reminds me of Banco De Gaias Last Train To Lhasa album. More specifically, the second cd in the limited edition version. I have spent hours lost in it's stereo drifting arpeggiators gently morphing. He did it without the modern tools and I am trying to create some music inspired by that album. You have helped me to maybe get a little further in my journey. I was tranced out on your music by the end. Beautiful.

Yeah it's totally possible. Two things 1.) Use the external audio effect plugin and 2.) make sure that the mix level on hardware effect is 100%. Keep in mind that by using any external hardware plugins you have to bounce out in real time.

It’s that Easy 😂 hahahahahaha “(ambient music) gave the opportunity for untalented people to make very boring music.” - Salome Voegelin, Listening to Noise and Silence. The implication that making tracks is easy only amplifies this theory. Have you ever read Salome’s book. If not I would suggest taking a look before considering writing a book of your own. If we were to look at some of the most inspiring texts that have influenced ambient music I think we would find that they are not focused on “tips and tricks” nor “fundamentals of synthesis” they are about the art. They are about the life. They come from the founders of the form, Curtis Roads, Gareth Loy, Salome Voeglin and others.

You can apply the techniques I share to that type of ambient. It's deep ambient/drone music. Use long pads and don't forget the bass.
