I loved watching this. I'm actually visually impaired and have a dog guide. She is 12 now and so I have just retired her but got to adopt her from the school. I loved watching when they start out and the process these dogs go through. Thank you for making this docuseries. It's very special. 🇨🇦

@@Ryanrulesok Just because I said that I am visually impaired, that does not mean that I am totally blind. I have no vision in my right eye and limited in my left so yes I was able to watch it. Also just so you know something, when someone is blind, they still say that they are watching something or that they are reading a book. In other words, you shouldn't assume anything that you know nothing about.
I love being a Guide Dog puppy raiser and get absolute joy watching these pups grow and learn to be an important part of someone else’s world. Such a rewarding volunteer role and Guide Dogs are so supportive all the way through. I currently have a 9 week old pup starting out

Omg there adorable, so excited to watch this!
For anyone reading this: I know that dog training can be difficult sometimes, but you're doing great. Keep up the good work, and your dog (and your own sanity) will thank you for it! ❤️💕
The work this charity does transforms lives. It enables people to achieve their potential in whatever it is they want to do in their life and I honestly can’t thank everyone involved in a guide dog’s journey enough. I’m so excited to see from start to finish the journey each puppy takes!!!
I need a service dog (not seeing eye though) but I just love watching them go from puppies to service roles 💖! Thank you Bondi Vet for helping with the health of the babies and animals regardless if they are guide dogs or not💖 you're care never goes unnoticed!

These are such important dogs for so many people. The volunteers are very special in the time and caring they provide. It was very special to view this episode and I look forward to future ones.

@@BondiVet I have tremendous respect for the people who raise those puppies and then have to give them up to begin their training. It must be so hard for both the carers and the puppies to be separated from one another. I absolutely know that I couldn't raise and watch a puppy grow up with me only to be parted from it. I honestly don't know how they do it over and over again.

@@Tara........ They do it because they know what a huge difference these dogs will make to the life of a person who needs a service dog to help them live in the broader world. The trainers love every dog they train, and they view themselves as “teachers” in a sense…every student comes to a point where they graduate (or leave school). They provide stability, love, and discipline as the puppies grow, all to the end of providing a better life for another person, and they are proud when their “beloved student” graduates and goes out into the world to apply that teaching.🖤🇨🇦
Such beauty. This was a heartwarming episode. I had a smile on my face the whole time. I know those babies will go on to be excellent guide dogs. Cheers 😇🌺💖.

I'm lucky enough to puppy raise a prospect multipurpose service dog that is being trained to be a mobility assist/ seizure response service dog with a Service dog program in my Country.
This makes me smile so hard my face hurts.
I work for Guide Dogs UK and it's so interesting to see how it all works in Australia.
These creatures are so intelligent & so wonderful to help us...you just want to hug them all!
Dogs are the best!
Omg isn't that just a bundle of happiness.
What a noble endeavor these people and the pups take on. Lovely to see a community come together to do something for the greater good! :)

The puppies are so adorable 🥰 whoever they go to and help later when fully trained is lucky. My boyfriend owns a black lab too and they’re rich with character and have such beautiful fur and adorable faces with cute floppy ears.
Good luck to future guide dogs in line of duty. As rightly said "You are born to lead" ♥️🙏
There so cute😊
I first learned about guide dogs in elementary school when I got a book called Follow My Leader. That was over 50 years ago. I loved the book and love guide dogs.

@chthchng1853 Labs are extremely food oriented, easy to train and they love to please. Their size is perfect for the guiding job. In the UK, we also use Golden retrievers, German shepherds and occasionally curly coat retrievers or labradoodles. (Not sure if Australia use the same breeds) breeds absolutely matter! Some breeds are born to do this job.
I am 42 and went blind due to sarcoma eye cancer and had to have both eyes removed im in writing to enquire about a guide dog
Oh I wish they had gone into more detail at the different stages rather than skipping the entire year of guide dog puppy socialization. We all know that they're born, we all know that they're raised until weaning with their moms and then are taken to foster care to raise for a year... What's the point of doing a series that literally just states those situations like we all know them (showing only the arrival and departure at each stage) without giving any behind the scenes? I would have been super interested to watch them do their puppy culture (or similar) prior to weaning and homing and their various excursions for socialization during their first year Etc. But this is so basic it's a waste of time - unfortunately - because they could really do with an educational promotion series.

Also please ignore my user my sister made it.
Even it it really cute, I can not understand, why there must be breeding again! There are sooooo many really gorgeous and veryyyy needy puppies without homes in the world. They are as good and smart and healthy, as these sweeties. I don't see, why we have to produce more of them, and leaving the others alone and without a chance. We know now that there is no special breed needed to do this job. I know of one rescued mixed breed from the streets of Iran, that now is doing policedog work in Germany. We need more of these stories!🙏🙏. You have the possibility to change life's of innocent homeless puppies all over the world. But at least of those who are in Australia.

X ray for a pregnant dog? Is that safe?
@BondiVet
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it is safe to x-ray in the last week of pregnancy, as the best way to determine the number of pups.
my late mum raised money for the guide dog's in the uk 🇬🇧 it's a shame there are still loads of people in the uk still watching for a guide dog 🦮 you all do a great job look forward to seeing more.

6 weeks seems awful young to take from mom but no doubt there is a reason for it
@NM-ub6ml
Жыл бұрын
@@xx3753 Yeah from eight weeks on is pretty standard. I got my pup at 8.5. 12 I would be concerned though if my pup was still with mother at 12 weeks. I would want them to be with me during the first fear period. However I did a bit of reading around this for guide dogs because I was interested and there was lots of discussion around the benefits being pups that were less focused on other dogs etc. I think it kind of makes sense and they are very well cared for and socialised not just with dogs. I have always heard guide dogs are exceptionally well cared for and their futures are to be looked after for life. It must work and not hurt the pups in a way that normal owners would find harder to replicate
@testerwulf3357
Жыл бұрын
@@NM-ub6ml This makes sense actually..taking them a bit early would make them less playful and interested in other dogs and during the early training they could socialize them with service dogs so how service dogs behave rub off on them and socializes them at the same time, it also gets them used to seeing other dogs early and used to seeing strangers early which probably helps too?
Questions why do we x ray the heck out of living humans and animals and isn’t it detrimental to take puppies so young away from their mother?
sounds like a way to run up the cost thereby making this service far more profitable than it would normally be. it's called greed
Remember God loves you♥️! John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. Please repent, change your life around and live for Him🙏.. He is coming back soon🥳😊.......
This puppies should be taken away from their mother until they are at least 8 weeks old.
