From Love to Goodbye: Why I Walked Away from My Beta RR300

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome to the new video, today we will talk about my big mistake, because you should admit your mistakes and learn something from them.
You all know that last year I bought a new Beta 300 2022 which I was happy with and had no problems, well there were some small problems but it was nothing that serious and it was not the reason for my sale.
And I don't know the real reason either, but I decide to sell the beta and buy a ktm exc 2023. And let me say right away that the Beta was very easy to ride , when I sat on it for the first time I immediately felt good and safe and it didn't take me long to get used to it. But with the KTM tpi, it took me a long time, more precisely about 50 hours to get used to it because the engine is quite aggressive and I didn't like it, that's why I had to do some modifications like the s3 low compression head to adapt the motorcycle to myself. While with the beta, none of that was necessary.

    ZF forks need dialing. Bleed the air while sititng on the bike, pull 20-30ml of fluid and, if it's sprung correctly, it should handle nicely with proper settings. That's been my experience.

    The problem with the bearings is solved..Race edition "24 has completely new, roller bearings. It is not objective to evaluate the ZF suspension on the motocross track. RR is a trail bike, race edition is a race bike. I don't agree with plastics either. When the rear fender breaks on the beta, the race can be completed. When the KTM is overturned, the fender does not break..the seat, side plastics and fender fall out and the ride is over. It's not about the quality of the plastics, but the design solution. All brands Beta, ktm, sherco have their +/- and not even one is the best, it's subjective. I drive BETA RACE EDITION "23 250 2t, I am very satisfied. I agree that the ability to change the character through the power valve and jetting is amazing!

    Hi , i had 2020 Sherco, and sold that for clutch and problem with ignition spool-it was too rich and spark plug went into hell so often. After that i bought Beta 22 race edition, i had no problem with the bike - i had Ktech cartridge in rear shock, small electric cables, kick start kit and no issues during 2 years. it was a great bike. Now i have 24 Sherco SE 300 again..( wanted just carburated bikes-BETA or Sherco)decided for Sherco for very good price for me, but put so many extra things from S3( footpegs, lowcompression head, break pedal...), recluse manual clutch and much more, now i think will be perfect for me....

Would you recommend switching from sherco to Beta with kyb suspensions?

    The only issue on the 23 beta 300 RR is the ZF suspension, that's it. The engine, the chassis, the brakes, the clutch, the oil injection. the keihin carb are all brilliant. Right out the box the Beta is competitively rideable but the suspension is the biggest flaw and to be honest i'm not sure what people expect for the non premium machine in their line up, there's loads of videos like this. However, credit where it's due for your non biased opinion, its nice to see and good to hear your back on a beta Racing this time. I put KTECH ORVS system in my ZF suspension and it transformed the front and back, still not at KYB level after some valving work but 10 fold on the ZF suspension. My RR has 80 hours on it without a fault. 😃

    As new beta owner I can say that it vibrates much more, more hassle with carbs, when it overheats you loose a lot of coolant, much less upgrading options. Only good thing that beta is easier to ride technical terrain due to less explosive power

  • @quickshiftpov

    @quickshiftpov

    2 ай бұрын

    @@vladbronnikov9813 definitely agree on vibration , there a bit shaky. Outside of that everything you've said is miles off the mark - the keihin carb needs very little adjusting to your altitude/riding and it's perfect beta even supplies all the data, sticking a fan & good coolant in the bike instantly resolves your overheating issue for the low down technical riding, without a fan, yeah the bike overheats 🤦 For any MY after 2020 There's an entire marketplace of upgrade parts from protection bits, power parts, bling items, chains/sprockets, pegs and everything in between coupled with one of the best customer service any manufacturer offers.

    Since 23 the bearing issues should be gone, I only know one case where they failed. On my 23 the plastics seem to be made of glass. I have replaced them with Polisport plastics and have a complete set of Acerbis on the shelf. The wiring is for sure the worst I have seen in a long time. Mine has the KYB suspension. I had three KYB forks on three different bikes and they all were pretty firm and did not use the full travel though I am heavy. Having said this, revalving is mandatory. Once this has been done the forks are a dream, better than anything WP has ever sold with the KTM XC's and EXC's. The best part of the Beta : it is not a KTM. Not an orange one nor a white or red one...

Before I went with the Beta, I've always had KTM products. However, after forums, KZread etc., I got scared off of a 24' 300 XC due to the reports and videos of the pistons shattering and trashing cylinders and bottom ends. I also got scared of the reports of the main bearing issues on the older Beta's. So I said to myself, both brands have known issues, which do I go with? Well, since they are both going to have problems, I'll take the one that actually has after sale support and cost thousands less. Outside of Harley Davidson, I am the farthest from brand loyal and if Beta sucks too, well there is always Yamaha next.

    Your cylinder shows classic seizure and the piston shows classic signs of over rev. Just watching your videos shows me you need to rebuild your top end more frequently. I would be willing to bet the over rev caused a crack and the crack resulted in expansion and seizure, or vis a versa I would also bet there is no difference between the quality of pistons and cylinders ktm uses. Vortex pistons are top quality although cast the way you guys rev your bikes to the moon and hold it under heavy load you should try weisco or a forged piston.

I have the beta 23 300rr fitted a ktech bladder kit and orvs forks has the rear lowered 20mm the suspension still very bad in my opinion simply can’t take a rough whooped out track no matter how it’s set up! They don’t have brembo brakes and clutch. They have no power valve. There heavier and stuck in the early 2000’s.
