Try it with the stock carb first, so you don’t have the wrong impression on the motor, when it just might be the Lectron. Plus, you can’t comment on the difference unless you try it both ways.

I do agree Kyle that I prefer the RR suspension as I ride mostly single track in woods, and have found the RE suspension too stiff. Although I did see some comment that they softened it this year. I also like the oil injection so I can hit a gas station and not have to carry oil. Again, looking forward to your input.

I bought that bike this fall, i really enjoy it. Love the motor! One tip is to remove the nut and just use the bolt on the steering stopper for better turning. The 24 model has updated radiators so the forks wont hit the rads even with the nuts removed!

Kyle- As of 2023, from what I understand, Beta has softened the spec settings in the KYBs in the RE bikes- and they now have them front and back. I did ride a 2023 RE this past fall and can confirm that the stock settings are fairly plush, for the way I ride and the terrain I ride. Pre '23 bikes were much stiffer out of the box. I have a 250 RR myself and really like it in general, as the motor is so tractable and easy to use, plus it really pulls nicely off the bottom and thru the mid range. It's probably not the the fastest of all the 250s(in a drag race), but it's so easy to ride that it doesn't matter, especially in the woods. The bike has held up well for me so far in almost 90 hrs & hasn't required anything other than basic maintenance. I'd bet that most 300 riders (or certainly a lot of them) would find that the 250RR is more than enough for them.

I recently picked up a 23’ 250 RE on run out sales And the I agree the suspension has changed I rode a buddys 2019 300 RE and that thing was like a rock compared to mine, The motor is super as well has that classic big bore 2 stroke sound and plenty of power from top to bottom with that angry 2 stroke power band I love the bikes map switch makes a big difference to the power and found it doesn’t want to pick up onto power band as harsh and send you upside down super good if your tired or just lazy and wanna cruise lol But I agree the stock carb DRINKS fuel I got about 100kms in 2.2 hours (mostly flat out stop and start wide rocky terrain) and on my way home I had to chuck it on reserve (never knew I threw fuel out of the over flow though) but will probably be upgrading to a lectron billitron so I would like to see Kyle test that on his beta. But if you can handle the god awful turning circle and air filter design The bike is a ripper and can’t recommend it enough

The smartcarbs can still dump fuel, it just goes right into the crankcase instead of overflowing. You still need to turn off the petcock when traveling, or you can end up with a severely flooded engine.

  • @SmartCarbFuelSystems

    @SmartCarbFuelSystems

    4 ай бұрын

And that is why we stress not using the SmartCarb, or any carburetor for that matter, as a positive fuel shut-off. That's the petcock's job. Best to form the habit of rolling back in to the truck/trailer/van, shutting the fuel petcock off, and letting the bike idle for as long as it takes you to remove your helmet and gloves before killing the engine. That runs the bowl down a tiny bit without running it empty (not recommended). Then, before turning it back on at your next ride, fire it up first. Makes it easy👌

Couple of items to add. Turning radius has been improved as noted previously. The Keihin carb on the beta bikes with the proper chatting works amazing. A simple JD Jetting kit is all that is needed. If you want to get different performance parameters a smart carb also works very well. It lets you change elevation without having to re-jet. I would like to try the new race model with the lighter valving in the KYB fork and shock. My current 2021 beta 300rr has the stock suspension that has been revalved and now seems to work quite well for slower speed riding. Still not as plush as I would like when the speed picks up slightly. I am torn on what bike I might go to next, perhaps yet another beta or a Husqvarna te300 pro model. (Have not heard much positive about the BrakeTec stuff so the regular Te 300 would be frustrating).

Previously owning a Beta 250RR 2016 and I can easily say that it is a good idea to try the bike out first with the stock jets. These engines run damn great with the stock jets year round, no mather the temperatur/weather. However, it can be a good idea to adjust the float level in the carb because it is usually a tad high and like to pee some fuel during transport to the track/woods. Now I own one 2018 KTM300Exc aswell as a 2022 Beta RR350, love them both. However, in my opinion both of these bikes needed quite some suspension upgrades, atleast for me running rough terrain and being quite a heavy guy. Keep up the good work, cheers from Sweden😊

Its a great bike. Love mine. Had to mess with suspension settings to dial it in, but now its pretty plush. Carb is simple jetting and it runs great. I'm riding at 6,300' to 11,500' elevation. I get about 80 trail miles out of the one tank. Paid about 3k less than a ktm or husky and its pretty rad. Skid plate is awful get a new one on there asap. Tires do suck, DOT tires not the best for enduro trails. Glad to see a detailed review from a reputable channel! Enjoy!

Best pet of the RE suspension is its KYB so can easily pick your poison for re-valving it for your weight and preference. I spent 4K to have my Sachs done including turning the 7mm stems down on a lathe to 6mm to install race tech gold valves, and essentially convert my rear shock over to a showa.

I'd revisit the Race Editions again Kyle. They aren't valved like MX bikes anymore. Went to a 2024 Beta Demo ride last month. The Race Editions were heads and shoulders above the Sach/ZF suspended RR bikes. It was especially noticeable riding the RR's back to back with the Race Edition Betas. The 430 Race's suspension was amazing. The 200 Race wasn't as good, but still much better than the RR bikes. I will say I like the 250 engine better than the 300. Beta strayed away from the magical 72 x 72mm bore/stroke that every other 300cc 2T enduro uses and it shows.

I think you should do both Kyle. Weight without gas for comparison sake and then weight with full tank for those that want a true riding weight. Just my opinion.

Is that a steering lock? Forgive me if that’s completely wrong.

You always say you buy the race edition, yet you didn’t buy the race edition 250 beta 🤔

The Beta is heavier than I thought! The KTM 300 XC-W is lighter than that 250. No Brembo no Bueno!

Blows my mind that people come to this channel for advice… Why would I take advice from a C rider?

Do not put a Lectron on! My 22 250 ran worse with the lectron being tuned to the bike. The Kehin carb is so much better!!

Beautiful bike! But hard to get parts and carbureted. No thanks. I’ll stick with the king of enduro KTM! Looking forward to first ride impressions.

What does that mean, not relevant? You don’t ride so it’s not relevant? Or are you making unnecessary critiques computer man…
