Welcome to this BRAND NEW LIVE COACHING SERIES where I take a student with a horribly losing poker graph and try to turn him into a total crusher. In this first episode Mark and I go through some of his recent 20NL hands, diagnosing his main weaknesses and setting homework.

    OK. When you asked Mark if he was excited I thought "yeah, I'm excited alright!" That was after the intro. Great idea Pete, thanks for your wisdom. I will be following along and hopefully plugging my game too. Thanks also to Mark for giving us this opportunity. Good luck Mark 🤞

    Great video Pete. Hats off to Mark for baring his graph and working on it on YT. I'm also in a similar situation where I'm losing 6BB/100 at NL10z so I'll be watching carefully as I'm sure I'm making many of the same mistakes especially applying theory in game.

    I don’t know how I haven’t found your channel yet- literally one of the best on KZread for poker education. EVERY channel seems to have the same ideas, strategies, ways of thinking, and you do your own thing, have your own style, and do it your own way and it’s REFRESHING! I truly believe that the way to become great at anything is to learn what everyone else is doing, and then do much of it differently: you emulate this psychology! Thank you for all the content and I’ll now be following, faithfully!

    But have you invested time in studying? Do you have a massive tilt problem? Some people just aren't made to be winning players but often it's just a matter of not studying properly.

    Interesting that you talk about the effect of the Ac on flop betting frequency of AcQd, but you skipped over suits on the turn of the AsJc hand and just said in essence "this is an ok spot to bluff." Solver actually bets 100% of AJo hands containing a heart and checks 100% of everything else on the KsTh2c-8h board, so I'd think that makes this specific combo a "must not bet."

    Got a question about the JJ hand at the end. When we call flop with JJ and the turn is the K of clubs, that turn is doing nothing for villains raising range. Also we have 2 outs that are not even very clean, so no redraw. Why don't we just fold to the flopraise in this spot? Also, as you pointed out, the spot is underbluffed because everything is underbluffed in these stakes.

    kzread.info/dash/bejne/aJWnz6Smf7a3esY.htmlsi=iypyNIw-tEijobvv&t=2325 A7 has exactly the same number of 8 outs as JJ vs 64 to make a better 2 pair, being 3 kings, 2 jacks and 3 7s for JJ vs 3 aces, 3 kings and 2 sevens of A7. Not that I'd expect we'd be up vs 64 a lot, but still. I like most of what Peter is saying but here he blunders quite a bit when specifically giving bottom 2 pair as an example. At least we should know how to count our outs Peter, try to keep up! xD We might need to fold JJ on the turn, but at iPoker we might first want to check their post flop stats if we can safely assume villain under bluffs as we'd expect from most of the player pool.

    In the BvB hand where hero had AcQd could we describe BB click back min raise on turn as a strategy to encourage a check on river from Hero?

  • @CarrotCornerPoker

    @CarrotCornerPoker

    This could be an implication of the line so we need to make sure we're building enough of a 3Bet range on the turn against this.

    9:09 what is the reason for barreling turn, or what makes it a 'classic double barrel' spot. Is it the fact you have a gutter and block the strongest top pairs/limited showdown value or is there something else?

  • @Joely7

    @Joely7

    Жыл бұрын

    You represent significant strength having 3bet the pre flop, while checking will severely hurt your range advantage, and your opponent will be all but compelled to bluff the river with weaker hands than yours, and you will often be forced to fold with the best hand.

  • @mackerhacker76

    @mackerhacker76

    Betting a sizing that is too big for your hand’s equity. Betting the middle of your range is a polarisation error. Hope that helps! 🍀

    Regarding the 86 hand. I think to say 'Never bet the middle of your range' is too general and the are many spots where hands like this do bet but mostly these are BUvBB when the flush draw was present on flop. Eg J53ss - we see K3s overbet here and then checks back river as its one those kind of magical combos in that it folds out some 5x and gets called by some A/Q hi flush draws. This is may not be the best example off the top my head by the concept is sound.
