In episode three of our travel challenge we arrive in Naples. Naples, Italy is a vibrant city with a rich history and culture, from its ancient ruins to its delicious cuisine. We stay in a Naples hostel and explore the best food in Naples and the best pizza in Naples in this Naples vlog.
We take an overnight ferry from Naples to Palermo and we show what this overnight ferry is like with our ferry room tour including our bunk beds on the ferry. Travel Europe by ferry.
We discover the vibrant history and culture of Palermo, Sicily. Spend a morning in Palermo and discover the best things to do in Palermo. We show what it’s like to travel across Sicily without a car and the best tips for travelling Sicily. We take a bus from Palermo to Syracuse. Travel Europe by bus.
We then travel from Sicily to Malta by taking a ferry from Sicily to Malta. This travel challenge ends in Malta shows us arriving into Malta. Explore the charming streets and historical landmarks of Valetta, Malta and see the best things to do in Malta in this travel vlog.

In this video we have to catch trains from italy to malta, but they are all sold out in italy, due to bank holidays and no seat reservations being available. We wanted to use our interrail pass to catch trains through europe. We try to use the eurorail app to book our trains and seat reservations and we travel on 1st class trains all the way to naples, but getting further south to our final point in valletta in malta is challenging. we have to come up with a plan B and we decided to get a ferry from naples in italy to palermo in sicily, which takes us closer to our end destination! can we make it in 10 days?

@@LiveTheDash i don't really have a favourite place, but my favourite spots are some medieval German towns
Unless there had been a massive strike of railway workers, a massive rail accident or terrible weather conditions, it would have been rather unlikely that no trains would have taken them further south than Napoli. The high speed trains would likely have been fully booked since it was a busy time of year, but the regionale trains leading to Villa San Giovanni, where there are frequent ferries to the Sicilian city of Messina, should still have been operating. Also, for anyone who is interested in following a similar route, there are overnight trains from Milano in the north of Italia to Palermo and Catania in Sicilia, and also from Roma to Palermo and Catania. These are the only trains that are loaded onto ferries to make the crossing over to Sicilia. For all other overland journeys to Sicilia people would need to travel to Villa San Giovanni, catch a ferry to Messina, then catch a regionale train or bus to wherever in Sicilia they are interested in visiting.
Great video! Loved this challenge, lots of nice places!, maybe next time as many capital cities as you can in 5 days maybe while not using planes ✈️ and in each city you have to complete tasks like try the local food etc

@@LiveTheDash I think they cycled from Darwin to Adelaide, which is only part of the journey, but still very impressive (from Adelaide, you'll then need to take the Overland to Melbourne, then the V/line to Geelong, then the Spirit of TAS, then you'll need to rent a car from there).

@@LiveTheDash Not Really, there is a lot of traffic all the time and there is basically no ambience of nature because every single plot is being built up into flats, apartments, hotels, etc…
