Watched leafy grow on youtube and it was such a rollercoaster ride on youtube in 2016 back then youtube was a different breed . But this video capsulated him perfectly.

I remember watching him during this era. I find him being called a legend now funny cause the people who call him that only do so because he was the face of that wild and unregulated time, where they were free to horrendously clickbait and shit on anyone with a pulse without pushback, not because of how "good" his content was.

People complain about his ban but at the same time. Calling out hypocrisy doesn't help them if their goal is to bring leafy back. It's kinda like when I complain about Facebook and its wonky rules. I will point out the fact that a meme with porn stars can get you banned even tho it's not them actually doing porn but just a photo of them in lingerie. Yet I can still find videos of people getting literally murdered on Facebook. Now granted I don't feel like the meme violates the rules of no nudity. But for the sake of argument let's say it's a clip of porn. Me bringing up the beheading, stoning, and cartel style execution videos doesn't mean I will get out of Facebook jail. It just means Facebook will take down those videos.

Leafy had awful lame content. But even that lame content wasn’t as bad as the things some people put out today. Especially when compared with how toxic tea channels are.

Idk why I enjoyed watching it. It’s probably the way he talked. Some how his condescending tone gave me satisfaction. I have to say I actually enjoyed his channel. Especially when he covered someone’s channel and they tried to beef him and the way he handled the beef in such a depressing I don’t care attitude was funny to me . Also the fact Everytime the person he covered would blow up in views and engagement even if the content was awful, and he knew it too. KZread was a different time ☠️

Leafy would trash anybodys YT channel..his most famous videos is definitely the beef he had with the little Russian kid 😂

in regards to the ethan thing- the h3 video wherer he was making fun of the 14 year old rapper was lighthearted compared to leafy content....ethan has proved via dms he was never "friends" with leafy. he just didnt wanna be apart of the back and forth and that he was already friends with idubbz before the camo. the whole framing of that section of the video is just kinda out dated. anyways whatever lol

I feel like 2016 youtube was probably a shitty awful place... but there was so much going on and so many channels to watch. Its hard to not miss it sometimes, considering youtube is kinda bland nowadays.

Glad I never watched nor supported leafy. He was blatantly a cyber bully who profited off KZread. I don’t like people like Ethan as well, but seriously there was nothing to leafy. His comeback video saying “KZread is still shit” is funny bc it just felt like he was angry he was essentially weeded out of the website, and then it happened again

Not even mentioning leafy cause I never watched him, The pvp community on Minecraft hasn’t changed that much at all, which is insane, depending on the server you play you could literally just say hi to someone and you’ll get threats

the difference with leafy re growth is that he didn't just blow up, he had a historical blow up by youtube standards. i think his channel may have had the highest growth in the shortest amount of time for any youtuber at the time (don't quote me but this is what i remember ppl saying) and this is when logan and jake were starting to blow up too. and his 'reptilian army' was bleeding over into the twitch community heavily too. i mean when i say the 'hiss' thing was everywhere, it really was - twitch and youtube channels - popular or not, didn't matter. never saw anything quite like it. so yeah although its natural for youtubers to have periods of ups and downs in growth, it was extremely noticeable (and obviously tied to certain events) when leafy started to decline in growth after such an unprecedented blow up. he didn't ever reach the sort of 'natural' dip in growth - he was still on his way up when everything suddenly came crashing down after that content cop and the youtube crackdown. i remember watching that content cop when it came out and just KNOWING leafy was done. those that hated him already were validated and those that were drawn to leafy's toxic bully humor couldn't deny that idubbz did what leafy did better than leafy himself. he made leafy look like a loser to his own fans. and if you blow up that fast, then your fans aren't really so much loyal as they are riding that toxic train lol

The last thing I heard about Leafy was he’s into stocks and stuff he even said that he enjoyed doing stocks in one of his videos if not probably in one of his old tweets/posts
