It's a better distinction actually! With Robes or Vestments or even a bonafide Halo both people and ourselves expect all we do to meet a preconceived standard, sometimes more than anyone could realistically do and be be noticed doing it too! The best acts of service are done discreetly, secretly or anonymously so we never have to deal the burden of pride and profuse gratitude. Our reward is in doing the service, in having the humble character. St. Francis of Assisi greatest joy was the many animals he helped. He always taught that we must be secret agents in the higher good.

You've now 1M subscribers. I watched this video when there were only a few hundred subscribers and I've followed you since then. Your journey changed my life too. 🙏

TL;DR * Consumption requires production, and production causes suffering...direct, and hidden. * Physical suffering is avoided by all, thus in our known framework it is bad. * Whether we are just surviving, or living regularly being ordinary consumers trying to fill a void ... we consume. Less, or more, but we consume. * So, if our belief is that we are good, then we are not living by it. * Mostly, our life has hedonistic goals. * Either, we stay stuck in chasing them. * Or we attain them, and repeat with a bigger goal. * Then, depending on the outcome, we either stay stuck, or reach and repeat. * This realization can lead to paralysis of sorts. * The philosophy of life I propose is consume to live, and live to help alleviate suffering. * Re-purposing life that way is better than any alternatives.

Do I tell you one thing that I have observed after knowing the hadeeths and the character of your prophet? If you look at his sirat his diet was 90 percent vegetarian. Note that he was a vegetarian even when in those deserts he only had access to dates and some breads unlike us who have access to so much variety. And if I tell you about the remaining 10 percent time he ate meat, he generally ate it only when someone offered it to him or in war grounds... why? Cuz an offered piece of meat can ofcourse not be brought back to life and second in war grounds cuz in those deserts if you don't get protien in such a crucial time you'll either be killed by an enemy or die of hunger...

Also I have heard Muslims narrating hadeeths such as "he sacrificed 100 camels on bakar eid" etc which are 100 percent false. There is no mention of bakar eid in the quran it just mentions the story of Abraham who was about to sacrifice his son to God unlike the Muslims today who kill an innocent. Also about that 100 camel hadees, it's absolutely fabricated because it states that it was the last bakar eid of the prophet, but in reality if read an hadees by hazrat aisha she stated that the prophet was under loan at the time of his death in exchange of his war suit to 100kg barley.... now that ofcourse means he wasn't rich enough to buy 100 camels.... also one more fact is that it is known by hadeeths that hazrat abu bakr and hazrat umar never ever celebrated bakr eid in their life's, were they any less of Muslims than so called good Muslims today?. Hence we can conclude that indeed islam doesn't make it compulsory to eat meat

I am pure veg since birth... And I also try to feed and take care of stray animals as much as can...Even have two stray dogs as pets. Had few earlier as well. Indeed you are doing a great job. Since I am a student so at present I have financial limitations but the way you thought about life, it's very similar as my thinking although people sometimes call it lack of ambition or old fashioned. But I have no complain.

This video is so much relatable. I never thought I would find a person with the thoughts of mine. I too avoid buying clothes and accessories as much as possible. My friends and family mock me for wearing same 3 jackets in winter and 4 t shirts in summer for 3 years. But I don't give a damn to them. In my mind I think of harming as low as possible for my greeds.

Don't worry...people who are different than herd mentality will have to face such comments and issues... Coz they envy ..rather r jealous of such ..coz they can't come out of their fake life. I am a Government officer ...I earn a decent amount.. my requirements are more towards going on tours, spending time in nature, spent more on visiting architectural marvels...if go to different places including abroad but don't like to post pics anywhere. I am declared kanjoos by some and garib by some as I don't have sophisticated gadgets or cars etc..on my own...my family does have and I don't tell to every as they live in my native place.. Initially it bothered me as I am different can't help it...but why these comments and treatment..later I understood the moment we stop the urge of approval we get into our world and can be happy and I did so

Right sir am working on this happiness when I was 12 yr old I rescued 2 puppies that was my Turning point now I have rescued more than 50 dogs and 20 cows feeding them own daily purpose and street animals by own pocket thanks to god for making me that much capable I will definitely have shelter of my own soon

After watching your video my eyes flooded with tears. I think you are the man who really connected with nature and understand the pain of consumption which we falsely understood as a growth & progress of humanity. Your sensitivity to understand the worth of life of earth worm and snail and for this give up all the foods except rice to survive is really great indication that you are a true Saint and you are a spiritualy awakened soul. In the age when people run behind money and girlfriend, you thought about pain of consumption and life of tiny creatures is really a amazing thing. I think you are a great soul on earth and you are a true Saint. I think you got the true source of happiness which we all need to discover. I will meet you someday somewhere. You are a true Saint.

Helping animals in need and encouraging others to be vegan is the greatest spiritual practice one can do much greater than rituals, god-worship, pilgrimage etc. Animals have every right, as much as we do, to be here and to be respected. One who cares about the most helpless section of life (animals) is a nobleman in my opinion. Thankyou Robin. 🙏🏼

Hello robin. You're an inspiration. This is the philosophy behind Jainism, but it's an extreme and not many people can follow it. Being born a Jain, I was always a vegetarian and from an early age thought why should we go behind things. But it's hard to survive in a materialistic world. In 2018 I started vipassana meditation, it was a turning point for me and then became a vegan last year in December. It has changed me completely. I want to move towards sustainable living now. I know it's a long journey but this video has really motivated me to continue in this direction. Thank you so much for sharing your journey

मैं तो गाय का दूध पीता हूं ओर पीता रहूंगा मा का दूध भी पीना बंद कर देना चाहिए तुम्हारे होने वाले बच्चों को वेगान बना देना पैदा होते ही गाई का दूध सरिर को पोषण देता है ओर हम गाय पालते है हमरे घर का सदस्य की तरह ओर जरूरत पड़ने पर बेचते भी हा ताकि किसी ओर को भी फायदा मिले ओर उसके द्वारा चुकाई गई कीमत उसे याद रहे q ki kimti chijo ki kadar hoti ha

Truly inspiring!! it's really tough and long way and you've come so far very well. Very few people can leave leisurely life. Nowadays, people have become slaves of AI...to live minimalist life is good but so hard. Actually when you were saying all these things at the back of my mind I was actually praising your wife who supported you in all your thick n thin time 👍 last but not least, last pic was awesome with that doggy in your lap and your satisfying smile... and thanks a ton for English subtitles!! 👌👌

His family life with fight among parents was toxic and bad start. Good that he moved from past and took action in the present. Another thing that he thought of suicide but find satisfaction to save other animals including stray dogs!!!!! There is lot more to happiness. One of them is: Be Okay with Bad Days - Part of living a happy life, is realizing that you won’t be happy 24/7, and being fine with it. You’ll have times of grief, and times of irritation, and times of stress or anxiety…and that’s fine. Accepting that you’re a human with a range of emotions, and seeing every day as a new day, is part of what makes you happy. Self-acceptance of just being human and not too hard on you is massive. “Life isn't burger king. You can't always have it your way.” “Life is a circle of happiness, sadness, hard times, and good times. If you are going through hard times have faith that good times are on the way. The higher the aim, the more struggles.”

Thank you for sharing your story. You are an amazing young man! Early in life you began the quest for meaning and purpose of life. Rather than finding happiness in worldly success (which too you have earned) and material goods, you systematically sorted through the maze, and found your calling ... Animal Advocacy... cherishing sanctity of life in non-human forms. Preservation, protection and conservation of destitute animals... to reduce or eliminate their suffering. What could be a better purpose!!! Something similar happened to me but because of other responsibilities, and being a few decades older than you, I could not fulfill my dream of starting an Animal Sanctuary .... a forever home for any and all animals, birds, reptiles... who might be abused, abandoned, neglected or were old ... and who needed a home. Instead I started networking for destitute animals, raising funds, donating mony/supplies/food/medications, sponsoring and fostering rescued animals. I am pleased to have stumbled upon your video, and will follow your efforts, and try to help as much as I can. I love animals. I don't hate humans but in many ways I prefer the company of 4-legged children of Mother Nature over those walking on 2 legs. I respect them. They are sentient beings and far superior to humans. No human (with the exception of a Mother) is capable of loving unconditionally. Subscribing. Will join.

Well, whatever you have endeavored or are doing, very small number of people are fortunate enough to realize and in far end eventuality sometimes it turns out to be too late having to embrace right and fruitful direction and principals in life. I have been doing Vipassana meditation for a couple of years now since then everything has changed. I have become very sensitive towards every life around me but still was lost don't know why? but after watching you and particularly this video the message is clear that consumption is so harmful to our mother earth. You have inspired me and my husband to choose this direction. Now I know what is the meaning of KARMA. I was a vegetarian from childhood but became vegan after your teaching. Thank you, Guru Ji 🙏🏻
