Love this series. It's one of the most accurate depictions of what comes into a shop on any given day

Noted. Start in the middle and work to the ends, which can be more easily adjusted. I really enjoy this series. Thanks!

It helps
Now, you buy Goodmark panels and you get 1980's Taiwan panels. Nice! My, dad rebuilt salvage vehicles, in the 80's. These Goodmark panels, seem to be Taiwan panels, from the 80's. Always, had to work them to death, to get a decent fit.

@@HotRodGuyGarageI used to think Goodmark was AMD level or higher. Dynacorn, OTOH, seems to be sloppier on there quality control
Interesting to see how you put it all back together. Nice to see Daisy, too.

I’m glad to see that Daisy stopped by to check on those welds😅 you definitely made the right choice in sending that panel back 👍

I am even more happy I purchased a welder. I'll start by fixing things other than cars, then work my way up. (Only for myself though). Thanks for the video.

Same here and I'm learning quite a bit about potential pitfalls as our 'old school' car builder's pointing out.

Wow, would be more work to make the new one fit. Good idea to use the old one.

Honestly, with all the effort you've put into this, the owner would be better off with a fast back conversion

You are doing a good job on that disaster
I know you have to destroy the repop quarter panel. I would save the metal to use as patches on the body as needed if the thickness is appropriate for reuse.
@HotRodGuyGarage

It will definitely be used somewhere as donor metal
Thank you for the update. Also appreciate the hard work you do for that Man.😎❤️
@HotRodGuyGarage

I appreciate that
That's a damning indictment of the newer repop stuff when a Taiwan sourced quarter fits almost perfectly. The misstamped body crease lines irked me as well. The worst part of this panel fiasco is 1965-66 Mustangs are everywhere and the quality of these types of parts needs to be better IMHO.

You're doing a great job, but if it was my car I would take it to the junk yard.

I urged him to use it as a parts car
I've had after market inner wheel wells show up not stamped right. All parts are not made the same. Did he have you put in torque boxes in?
@HotRodGuyGarage
Ай бұрын
It's all basically garbage now , no added torque boxes but it will get fully tied frame connectors when done
It's sad there are so many poor-quality parts they're turning out.
@HotRodGuyGarage
Ай бұрын
It a epidemic across the industry. I've seen more bad poor quality parts in the past 5 years then ever
It would be cool to have a clock in the shot so everyone can see just how time consuming this is.

Each video is shot over a 8hr day
I can't imagine how many hundreds of hours this is going to take to put this right. A really poor purchase.
