Velile, I know exactly your concerns on eating proper food. That's one of the reasons I want to move to S.A. It's very hard to eat proper in the States which it shouldn't be like that. Please read the labels and yes it's a science project. I go through it myself. If you don't drink regular milk there's a brand named Elmhurst which is just almonds and filtered water. The others have gum in them "not good for you." Blessings

Forgot our game parks, Hluhluwe being our flagship game park. I believe all provinces including KZN are less marketed than Western Cape. Without any doubt, the Western Cape is beautiful, but other provinces like KZN have their own unique beauty and culture which you can never find in the Western Cape. Some tourists are less interested in highly westernized places like the Western Cape, and are looking for an authentic African experience, that you can never find in the Western Cape. It is time for KZN and other rural provinces to showcase their uniqueness.

People shouldnt listen to this moaning and whinging about a host country. Its bad when visitors have nothing good or very little to say about the host. USA is a good country and will serve you well if you do your homework. It is a wild dog eats wild dog country where you will not survive if you have no strategy. You cant devise a strategy if you dont do your homework, you cant do your homework without information. You dont just jump into the USA, you have to be well informed (do your due diligence), mentally, emotionally, physically and financially ready to venture into the dog world. Plus, your skills better be relevant and you better be prepared to roll up your sleeves, get involved and get your hands dirty to earn that $. Otherwise you will spend your R-to-$, raid credit cards, refinance your home in SA to finance your opulent lifestyle in the USA, and come back resentful and broken hearted to face all that debt. It has happened to many who were in a much better position than Velile. Im talking about people whose accommodation and furniture were taken care of by the employer but they still accumulated debt, transferring money from SA to the USA and Europe. It happens all the time. You dont leave behind South Africa and expect to find it in the USA. This is what happens when people dont do their homework and dont plan. You make wrong choices and spend money buying what you have. Had she loaded her household goods for a 2beds flat in a container she would have saved a lot of money. They chose one of thee most expensive districts in the USA, Washington DC. Thats the capital and this is USA, its not for poor people or 'rich' foreigners carrying weak currencies. Leave DC to foreign heads of states, their delegations, leaders of Fortune 500 companies and their entourage visiting to lobby US politicians.

It’s called sharing of information and enlightening others of what life is like in other countries. Coming back to your insight about host countries, strategy and all, this is the second time I live in USA. I lived here before and my daughter is born American. This country is no longer the same as it used to be period. Strategy or not, the quality of life is no longer the same. A lot of African Americans are suffering in this country and are moving out for better quality of life somewhere else. Whether you are a corporate executive or a cleaner, quality of life comes with the ability to live inexpensive, save your money and enjoy the rest of the world. I have seen people here walking like robots working hard and have no time to enjoy life. My perspective is to acknowledge that not every South African comes to US as an executive or at my level. We have our kids coming here as nanny’s, working in entertainment parks etc, they need to know that life is not what it looks like on tv in reality. We don’t want our children caught in depression because we never told them. Yes there is a good side of this country and that will be shared too. 🙏🏾❤️

@@VelileLifestyleDecorTV 'at my level...', this means you shoudnt be in DC you should be in a cheaper city and theres plenty of those. DC is for high earners and rich people not people who think they are rich. 'African Americans...' tell me about other Americans, African Americans are a waste of time, not worth commenting on them except to say they will not survive where they are moving to because of their attitudes, laziness and lack of skills. As a coutersy to the host nation you should have started with the good side which far outweighs the bad for those who are able and willing to study situations, do their homework and plan properly and stick to the plan. Your 'child was born there...2nd time in the US...' , this means you didnt learn anything the first time otherwise you wouldnt have needed to start all over again buying furniture and household goods you should have brought from or bought in SA and ship on 1/2 container all for less than what you paid buying in the US. YES it can be done you only need to know that. 'your children go there to work as nannies'...LOL the same jobs they are too lazy to do in SA. They go there to work as nannies while Chinese go there to work in the Tech and Indians in the pharmaceutical industries and earn big. 'people walking like zombies....' are you sure those arent drug addicts you were seeing?. And in KZN you missed the nyaope addicts, how convenient. At least those people are working you said that, that should trigger something in you about high rate of unemploynent in SA. 'the country is not the same....' is South Africa the same in 2024 as it was in 2014 and 2004? Did you have loadshedding in 2004, how much did the litre of petrol cost in 2014, how much does it cost in 2024? How many electricity units did you get for R100 in 2004 and 2014, and in 2024???. How much groceries did you get in 2004 and 2014 for R500, how much do you get now? How common was drug addiction in 2004 and 2014, how common is it in 2024? If South Africa has changed for the worse in the past 10 and 20years why do you expect other countries to remain frozen in time? You've been complaining about everything from food to rent to prices to service to missing rural areas, etc, why dont you end the misery and go back to KZN? Isnt that what we South Africans tell ungrateful foreigners when they moan and groan about SA? To go back where they came from? Well, its time you get told the same, to leave USA if you cant take the heat. At least in the USA and cities in SA you have access to clean, running water. A courteous person does NOT trash other people's food as if they eat rubbish and that you can do better when you are not. What happened to 'if you have nothing good to say dont say anything'? Im going to add: especially about food. You are indeed from KZN it shows in your lack of basic courtesy.

Organic food is overrated. This is not 100% naturally grown food, its genetically modified food that uses less modifications, like below a certain %. Example: cold pressed olive oil, its not 100% cold pressed, its just pressed at a lower temperature, i think below 30 degrees is considered cold pressed. The lower the temperature the better but manufacturers dont release that information. Its all in the taste and colour, the lighter the colour the better. Id rather use a good normal cooking oil than a hot pressed expensive olive oil. Hot pressed is dark in colour even if its labelled cold pressed. Genetically modified food tastes lekka and theres nothing wrong with it if it is strictly controlled like it is the case in SA. We have just under 8billion mouths to feed on the planet, we need genetically modified food otherwise millions of people are going to die of starvation. Im not dying of starvation, im going to eat genetically modified food. Health food tastes like paper. Unless you grow your own food and use no pesticides, no fertilisers, or anything to help the plant or livestock or soil, you are not buying or eating organic food. What you buy from supermarkets is tired 'organic' food, its been standing there for days with its organic elements negatively affected by artificial, opulent lights. Yes, lights have a negative effect on food like fruit, veg, milk, eggs, meat incl processed meat and ladies...lights have negative effect on make up and skincare products. Hot lights kill active and other ingredients. LED is better. Issues with genetically modified food are exaggerated by lobbyists for organic food producers, its all noise and politics just like climate change which is happening but not at the exaggerated rate the EU sponsored environmentalists claim. NASA can prove that this is an exaggeration. Genetically modified food saves lives.
