Sam January Look at the roots. England birthed dubstep. Benga and Skream were the first to put it on the map around 2006ish in england. a few years later came along Flux Pavillion, Mt Eden Dubstep, etc. And they came around 2007-2009ish making dubstep known internationally but not a relevant genre to everybody. And 2010 sonny and a whole bunch of artists came along and really put dubstep on the map everywhere by 2011. Skrillex doing most of it with cinema, in for the kill remix, scary monsters and nice sprites, etc.

Everytime I come back to some post hardcore/ pop-punk stuff it’s always soooo damn generic and I can’t tell a damn band apart. Back when I was heavy into the genres they all sounded similar, but yet very different. This sounds like the same 2010+ regurgitated generic music. Is it good? I remember when he was doing dubstep and sung on a 12th Planet song and I was like I'd kill for this voice back in FFTL. So glad it happened. Sonny's EDM music was great I thought Recess was a fantastic album and he's released some absolute anthems for dubstep fans, but this voice is too good to not use.

This was such a tease. I remember this coming out thinking they were making a comeback.

So many kids don't even know where Sonny Moore came from. I've been following him since 'Ride the Wings of Pestilence'. I was fortunate enough to see him twice; once live in FFTL and then once again, a few years later, during his his solo electronica years. You know.. his copaface and gypsyhook days? I have a signed gypsyhook ep and a signed copy of 'Heroine' somewhere in my mom's garage. This is when he was making remixes for various metal bands like Bring me the Horizon and Horse the Band, to name just two. Then came Scary Monsters and nice sprites, an album that is the culmination of all his prior experience gained throughout his career. I really like what he did with this song, it brought back a little nostalgia. Although, I don't care too much for his new music, I do admire him as an overall talented musician.

I remember being a fan and hearing he left fftl and went solo I went and found his solo project, Im assuming copaface or something and just thought, why? I didnt understand electronic. Now that im older electronic is primarily all I listen to and I guess sonny was just getting ahead of his time or something

It was weird seeing him go from fftl to his electronica at first, especially when all I listened to was metalcore/screamo or "post"- whatever genre they call it now. I was like 14-16 at that time, and I can say his really earlier work greatly influenced the direction of music I listened to and even played a small part in me taking up electronic music myself. 10 years later and I now primarily listen to dark techno and more experimental electronic pieces. But not before I went through a very short brostep phase lol

I've listened to new stuff but in my heart my favorite bands have always been old school From First to Last, Chiodos, The Used, Escape the Fate, etc. This is the first decent new song to come out by an old band in a long time. I can't stop listening to this. Nostalgia has engulfed me and I pray with all my heart that Sonny returns home for good. If this is just a taste of what's to come then I want the rest. Thank you FFTL for the wonderful music and thank you Sonny for giving us faith in the Emo/Screamo genre again.

Please don't make this only a one-off. This song is so fucking good. STILL.

You know with the amount of fame sonny has gotten he might be able to not only make FFTL popular again, but possibly the whole genre. It's a stretch no doubt but I'd fucking love that.

@@Adama.1 Dude, I'm 41 and still listen to this shit. Good music is good music. A lot of good bands came out of the early '00s, including FFTL. I remember meeting them at Warped tour in 04 and being blown away by Dear Diary they had me listen to on their discman. I had just gotten out of the Army and was getting back into the music scene and they influenced a lot of the stuff I started listening to. Still enjoy them, although they're terrible live.
