From Beginner to Pro - 3D Reference Masterclass for Webtoons Artists

Фильм және анимация

This is it. The guide that covers NOT ONLY how to use Clip Studio Paint's 3D models, but also how to pose the characters to not be rigid barbie dolls. If you've been wanting to use 3D but leary of it because the poses always look bad, uninteresting and doll-like, well this is the video for you. Hope it helps you use reference for your art, makes your art faster and allows your 3D reference to look human. Because no one wants their reference to look like it has a stick shoved up it's....
Cheers,

    This is really, really helpful! I'm finding myself deeply envious of the way the mannequins move in Clip Studio - I use a different app for 3D poses, and it's quite a bit more tedious. The tips here are brilliant though, I'll definitely be applying them to the app that I use!

    As a DAZ user, it IS refreshing to see how much easier it is to pose in CSP. In truth, with DAZ, I tend to BUY canned poses which usually provide at least a starting point. I was entirely unaware of the direct joint selection (big single dot) and how useful that can be. I can save DAZ figures as FBX and if I bring them in one-by-one, the joints remain adjustable. I just like the much greater anatomical detail with the DAZ figures (after all, that's all the devs DO!), but instead of just making screen shots out of DAZ, I may look more at the posing advantages in CSP. New sub here!

    Yeah in my first year of animation I had the same problem but now that I have work 5 years in the animation industry it almost comes naturally, your video is a good reference for beginning artists, especially if they using clip studio. You inspired me to even do a video on posing lol keep up the great work and stay awesome 😁✌

    Thank you! That was really insightful. Would love to hear more about posing and gesture/acting from animator perspective.

    really good video, thank you for making it: just one suggestion to help with distractions (I know a lot of youtuubers place a small screen that shows them guiding us through a tutorial, but I always find it distracting to see movement at the corner of the screen when I'm trying to focus on what you're teaching; for future videos, if you can please remove the tiny screen, and only show the clip studio environment alone, that would be more helpful). Thank you!

    I found this amazingly helpful. I use magic poser but hopefully i can make this work with it. My poses always looked so lame compared to others and it might’ve been because i never adjusted the spine lol. By the way If you have any poses you have generated and would be fine sharing those i would def find use for it.

    Have you thought about using “all sides view” under Window, in order to view other angles of the 3D model at the same time? 6:30

    I appreciate the distinction that pose = gender of a character but I feel like categorizing these poses as either "masculine or feminine" is a weird distinction to begin with...

  • @askinganime6023

    Masculine and feminine in this sense are traditional terms in art that are used to generalize the human figure. Unfortunately it's 2023 now and everyone's woke and gets uncomfortable when we define what gender is and make a distinction between male and female 😂

    @@askinganime6023 like I get that a pose can be interpreted in some ways as feminine or masculine but it's giving like "boys wear blue and girls wear pink!" energy. just get reference to the pose you want and use it how you want to apply it. who cares if it's feminine or masculine

  • @askinganime6023

    @askinganime6023

    @lilacbombs _ sure. Girls wear pink and boys wear blue are established tropes/characteristics of gender in society that most people instantly recognize. It's the same with poses. Many artists, including the one in this video, like to work within established characteristics of masculinity and femininity and want to portray that in their character. And so if others watching the video want to do that as well, that's why they made the distinction between feminine and masculine poses

    This video is really helpful but i didn't know why there is only a few likes. Maybe you should make a simple video and dont make the video boring. This is only my opinian
