I actually really love the light finish you chose. It is modern but you can definitely appreciate the beauty of the wood.
To each his own. I don't like the stain you choose but I'm impressed by the skill it took to refinish this and make it what it is. Bravo.

When it's a decent grade of wood it's worth saving. But people complain about paint - even with those low-grade 80s fakes that are treated to LOOK like antiques but are actually junk, but perfect for painting. BTW - painted furniture is not a "new" trend. They are found in Egyptian tombs.

Excellent job- especially the grain and color match on the damaged veneer areas. That's true artistry
I love the white wash stain combo, I discovered this when my husband made me a sofa table and I wanted a certain look. I played around with the technique till I found the look I wanted and thats the white wash first then the stain, while it hasn't dried yet. And got a gorgeous washed aged looking pine boards. Exactly what I wanted. You're incredibly talented, love the videos. Maybe one day I will tackle a small redo job instead of painting things.
You certainly brought out the beauty in them. They look beautiful. I like dark furniture but what you did with it, it's so elegant + updated, it's beautiful work.
You're an artist ❤❤❤❤
The final result is really good, and I think you actually vintaged your modern. By that, I mean it looks sooo Art Deco. Good job!
Awesome work! I appreciate a non painted piece these days as well. So tastefully done.
Wow, that was a labor of love! Turned out beautiful! 😊
Well, they were my style before your refinishing, and after they definitely weren't. But that's okay. I can at least appreciate that you didn't paint them, nor did you send them off to the garbage dump. And I do agree that your skills are very good. :)

Removing veneer is usually easier with heat and water. I keep an old steamer iron for the purpose. Wey the area. Use the iron on steam. Leave it there for a couple of minutes and start pushing your putty knife under the veneer.
I prefer the original color, I'm not a whitewash fan. But I still recognize a magnificent refinishing job. Skills & patience, both incredible.

I love when people do this. You take old, warn out furniture and give it new life. Instead of being shoved away somewhere or taken to the dump, it will sit in a beautiful home and be admired!
I like darker stain, but they are still really nice. Very glad you didn't paint them.

Thank you for NOT painting it! It shows so much more skill to do it the way you did but it makes such a huge difference when you still get to enjoy the natural beauty of the piece. Awesome job, it looks incredible!
I'm so amazed that a lot of early 20th century furniture was made with plywood and still looks good. I think there's a lesson in durability and good looks for furniture here.
So classy. Looks amazing
I liked the "before" better than the "after", honestly. I think it would have been better to just fix the places where they were scratched and chipped rather than completely overhauling them. But I do thinking painting would have been the worst option, so I'm glad you didn’t do that.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen anyone do a stain over white wash. I always wondered if that would be an option. Good to know it’s possible. I absolutely love the result! Great job 👏

It's a little unfair to say people can't restore old, excellent furniture because they want to use a finish in their home you don't care for- and the nice thing is, with all the great videos on YT on how to rejuvenate and refinish furniture, it's easy to make it dark and glossy if that's your fave!

I like the curves and solid wood of the older pieces just not the darkness in a smaller home. Too visually heavy for me but you can make over any quality piece back to the high gloss dark stain too. I see them often in my area because I don't do the mdf and boxy.
Great result, much better color.

Beautiful job. You really are an artist 🎉🎉🎉
I liked the finish stain way more than the darker one. It looked so cool and so..new. I wish I had these skills and the time because there is some serious money in refurbished furniture
Have heard the "adult Play-Doh" line before... but I still chuckle every time!!!
Sorry, but a darker stain would have been a better choice. That light color looks cheap. A more traditional hardware might have been more appropriate to. Why does everything have to be "more modern" modern is not automatically an improvement.
I definitely like the white wash stain and feel it really brought out the beautiful grain.
Your artistic side is obvious in how you matched the veneers, very impressive. My husband is the wood finisher, not me, but I will have share to share how you are cooling down the orange/red tones because it really looks lovely and the beauty of the wood grain is not lost in very dark stain or paint.
I completely understand why the top handles are slightly inwards because its different drawers with a different center and yes it makes sense and looks great but my gosh that out of line top handles bothers my brain so bad lol. I get that if you did make it line up with the others, it wouldn't be in the center of the drawer anymore which would bother me too I'm sure so...I dunno, they're beautiful but I don't think I could ever have that specific kind of dresser in my house because of that conundrum and I'd just constantly notice that. Just me I'm sure but they are very pretty, that I can appreciate

The older handles were way more beautiful than the ugly boring ones you replaced them with, and the original dark brown was beautiful. I wish you had restored them while keeping the original touches

Omg, I could swear those used to belong to my parents when I was growing up - and I’m 65 now. 😂 I know that’s decades ago and I couldn’t possibly remember correctly, but it’s such a memory imprint in my brain, those look exactly the same! They were sold at the estate sale with everything else in 2014. I like them much better less orange-y, great call. Congrats on the flip, and I hope whomever bought the set also has decades of love filling and using them. Wow, thanks for the trip down memory lane.
I much prefer the original stain, BUT I am so glad you didn't paint them. You did very well! Good job!

Woah.. so amazing! I actually don’t hate as much the trend of white washed furniture but I prefer more natural wood and this is such a great compromise. Brings out the beautiful wood while still being lighter in color which I tend to prefer because lighter colors make the room look a bit brighter.
This is pretty, but I'm a dark wood girlie at heart. Would have loved to see this piece with either darker pulls or a darker stain
I’ve been working on furniture for several years, but always for my home or revamping old pieces for family. But woooman!! I have learned so much from you!!! I’m thinking about how possible it is to salvage wood and leave it natural. Thanks, boo!!! My stuff is gonna be on a whole nutha level now!!! Can’t wait till I get a good collection of tinted markers and pencils etc to really add that perfect touch to my work. I have several more items to add to my refurbishing products
