Ah, interesting video. I've been recently reading through a good book about Frisian runes that released a few months ago called "Runes Across the North Sea from the Migration Period and Beyond". It happens to also discuss the variation in ᚪ, calling the two forms the "Chevron Type" and the "Acute Angle Type". It also mentions some subtypes with the ascender starting around the center of the side-twig like on the Arum Sword inscription. The ᚩ rune also similarly has both types, though the chevron type for this one seems to be more prevalent in the scarce Frisian attestations.

Dyami Millarson uses Runes for his revival of Wangerooge Frisian.

Trying to figure out how to approach writing dutch using futhorc, but can't figure the potential pronunciation of the runes. (æsc , ear & yr for example) Would you perhaps have any idea about this? 🤔

I haven't studied Dutch much, so I can't give any specific recommendations, but I do recommend settling on something if you haven't already. I recommend deciding if your alphabet is trying to stay true to the runes' old sounds, or if your alphabet is supposed to kind of predict how Dutch might've evolved had it used Futhorc and evolved with it. For English, I find the second option unworkable because of English's many mergers and splits, but maybe Dutch has had fewer?

​@@Hurlebatte From what I can tell there have been some changes, but it very minor compared to english & german. Though diphthongs may be a but problematic. I'm trying to stay as close to the old sounds as possible, though I'm not sure to what extent that is possible. Biggest challenge for me is the way some vowels are transcribed. Especially the ones I noted before. (æ is not even a sound I can consistently differentiate, and from what I know its pretty much an english/frisian thing, though Im not sure modern west frisian even has it) Also interesting to some extent are attested digraphs and things like calc, gar and some unnamed ones. No clue how to interpret those however.

Yeah, some runes exist for Anglo-Frisian sounds which Dutch never developed. Your task is tricky.

We should probably keep in mind that "Th" used to be spelled with a Y as a replacement for Þ (Thorn) We got Th because French people had issues with pronunciation

The TH digraph predates French, and was sometimes used in Old English.
