Any suggestion on how to get it to make more ice? Brand new Frigidaire and it doesn’t seem to make very much ice. There’s hardly ever more than 2-3 cups in the tray, which we use quickly and then we’re run out.

Looks easy enough, good video. Too bad he didn't mention what this part does and why you would need to change it.

The part would need replacement if, when you switch from crushed ice to cubed ice, the dispenser continues to dispense crushed ice. In other words, it controls the ice selection.

Is it normal for ice to accumulate in the box you took out? That appears to be my issue causing leaking inside freezer AND only dispensing crushed ice. Great video!!

Maybe clarify the title its the auger this video is about, not the ice maker assembly

It appears that you did not attach the wires to the solenoid as they were when they were disattached. Does this affect the solenoid's operation?

My solenoid burnt up. I was able to find a replacement kit and installed it. It seemed to work but it kept buzzing after dispensing cubed ice. I was afraid it was going to burn up again so I unplugged the solenoid. I assume that whatever is controlling the solenoid is not releasing it. Would that be some kind of controller board or could it be something else I missed.

I replaced the solenoid but I'm still stuck with just crushed ice!!!! Everywhere says this is the problem and I don't know what else could be the problem. All the connections and wiring seems to be good.

What does the Solenoid Assembly do My Frigidaire Refrigerator ice maker feeder is making a loud noise how can I fix it

Could this be the problem with my Frigidaire ice maker, to replace this solenoid? My ice maker will not dispense crushed ice, only cubed. We have already replaced the dispenser crush assembly housing which we were so sure was the problem since we had a piece of the part that broke off, and it was identical to the part in the housing assembly. But unfortunately, it still only dispenses cubed on both settings. We’re at our wit’s end!!!

Yep, it's stuck on cube. If it dies, the setting it died at is the setting its stuck doing

I was thinking the solenoid was something that opens and close so that water can flow in to make ice. Is that not correct? My issue is that water isn't flowing in to make ice. I can see the gears turning because it thinks there is ice being made, so I think that part works fine. I checked all the water tube connections and everything looks fine. The up and down latch works fine too. Any chance that a bad solenoid could be my problem? If really want to try this solution! Thanks.

Check your filter, if it's old it won't flow enough to trigger the ice maker

@@rdizzleoriginal The water filter is pretty new. I've been keeping up with that. But thanks for the lead. I'll take the filter out and see if anything changes and keep poking around. Thanks!

I don't think so. This solenoid works as a switch, not a turning motor to push out ice.

Make sure that your auger is lined up with the motor drive. Watch the last minute of this video so that you understand what I am saying. Not sure if that is the problem or not, but it could be.

Its just for dispensing ice issues. His title is misleading as he only works on the dispensing auger and not the ice maker
