Another thing to consider.. if your freezer light switch is defective or replaced by the wrong type, there will no voltage and the icemaker will not work. I learned this the hard way, I replaced the light switch with a two prong instead of the required three prong and discovered the ice maker was not working several days later. After troubleshooting the icemaker with the jumpers and no results, I checked for voltage from the harness..... zero with the switch light button off or on. I put the old light switch back in (3 prong) and now the ice maker is working again. Ordered the proper switch and lesson learned. The reason I originally replaced the light switch is because it kept sticking closed and wouldn't come on.

This is a great video that breaks down the complete workings of an ice maker. If it's not one of these problems, get a new fridge.

I used the jumper wire to determine my control head was not working to turn on the water. I ordered a new one and during the install process realized I need to turn the dial so that it is in the same position as the old I took out. Can I loosen the screw in the center of the dial to adjust it ? Thanks for the thoughtful video.

One other thing to consider. If you changed the Refrigerator temperature from the default of 5 to 6, it does freeze the water line, restricting any flow of water after a while. Coming back, you try the water and get no water. Replacing everything, the problem reappears. Lowering the temperature, will restore normal operation, permanently.

I followed all of your advice. I was getting ice in my freezer but no water. And now I get no ice either. I replaced the water filter to a brand new filter. No water. My water button works (I hear the actuation). I then checked my crisper for ice (to see if it is frozen) and even defrosted for 3 days to be 100% certain; still no water. I replaced my water valve and ensured all water hoses are connected properly. The water from my wall comes in and runs through the water hose, up into the water filter and comes out the return line to the water valve. Water is properly flowing. The new water valve is showing appropriate resistance with a Multimeter (186/257). So if the water from the wall is pushing water up into the water valve and back down the return line to the water valve with a high rate of water flow, what could be the suspect? Could a new water valve have an internal defect? For some reason, I don't think the water valve is allowing water to flow through it even though the resistors show proper resistance with Multimeter tool. Is there a secondary component behind the water filter that pulls or pushes water to the dispenser? Could the computer board be suspect even if the water light is on and I can hear dispenser actuation, but no water? I am really stumped here.

Can you tell me how I get the cover blocking your access to the ice box I need to see if they are jammed or what I can not even see the mold on this baby. Appears as though the cover has no handle to take it off

My ice maker has power water & valve works, & heater works. The motor would not turn when I took it out of the control module and put 110v on it. I replaced the control module. It made ice for a little while. Then I trouble shoot it. Can't find any abnormalities. Motor will turn If I put 110v on it when I have the control module separated from the ice cube bay. I replaced the thermostat and put new thermo compound paste on it. even though the thermostat I took out I believe was still good. Freezer is zero degrees. Thermostat is not closed. Cannot get motor to rotate by jumping T & H. I don't know what else to do except buy another whole unit. Only thing is I can't find any ice maker numbers that correspond to my refrigerator model number Whirlpool Estate TT21AKXKQ05.

Make sure that you have a strong water stream coming to the refrigerator. Disconnect the water line and put into a large pail and turn the valve back on. If the water stream is weak, the valve may be the problem. Saddle valves get plugged quite easily.

Master, what happens when you cable jump the V and the L ports and the water doesn`t come out. Actually I jumped letters V and N and water starts running. ¨The problem with my ice maker is that the water pump does not open when the motor makes contact with its circuit. I replaced the head of the ice maker but the problem remains. What a headache master, please help.

My ice maker doesn't have the same face. The ice maker is sending 25 vac to valve all the time. Sends 120 vac for nine seconds but, valve doesn't open/close . Is it supposed to have 25 v on all the time?

I know this is and old video but I was wondering if anyone knows where to get the plates that are removed when installing this type ice maker? I want to remove mine and reclaim the space in the freezer for storage

I think our ice maker has a leak near the on/off because the water runs in and freezes into crescents and the part at the front end of the maker freezes like a leak and sometimes can’t get the bin out!! Till we use a hairdryer on it . Then the water is in the bin.

Also had repairman try to work on it and the ice makers doesn’t have a plug on the end to remove or reinsert it... looks like it is wired into the body of the freezer!😮

I have a LMX25964ST /O0 LG refrigerator, the ice maker has water but not turning it into ice. I had it on 0 degrees, now have it on -2 degrees, tried reset, still not making ice. Also changed filter.

When making a test cord, where does the ground on the test cord attach on the inlet valve?

Hold it in your teeth. That way you can check and make sure valve body is not grounding out...

To far away can't see what you are doing get closer to the camera.

The camera is too far from the ice maker. GE only sells a complete ice maker, no parts. So I need to determine if any other parts are defective before purchasing a new ice maker. You've covered the water valve as a part that could cause an ice maker to not work, but how about a dispenser control board malfunction. What about the fan that blows cold air into the ice maker. What about manually starting a harvest cycle? That tells you right away if no water is the problem. Ice makers won't work if the cabinet is above 10 degrees Fahrenheit. Ice makers won't work if a piece of ice is jammed in the "ice maker full of ice" sensor. If no one complains how can this video improve?

I gotta say this was a good video, BUT, I HATE HATE HATE the background music!! It was SO DISTRACTING! Who did you let ruin your great repair video with that stupid distracting "canned" bongo drum and geeeeetarrrrr music?! I had to keep stopping and rewatching several parts of it. Hate to say it but it ruined your video that has a lot of information and is difficult to follow anyway because of a LOT of info. Not even going to save it. Too painful. You should re-release the video with no background music.
