I think it's beautiful to see these women to nourish and support each other and their incredible talent. For Greta this is only the second movie as directory and to take the challenge of such a title with such a cast and delivery how she did, it means she earned an incredible trust from the everyone in the troupe. Don't freeze in the resentment for inequality, team up and nourish each other , this will lead women to the top of the cinema industry.

Hollywood has been making versions of Little Women for decades. There is the 1933 Katherine Hepburn version and the 1949 June Allyson version. I read the novel as a child and loved it.

Why rehash same books over and over. Plus Im sick of people rewriting history. I like Greta but she's talented enough to write her own fresh stories.

Honestly, I think the answer is simple. Little Women is a classic and eternally relatable story which never gets old. Yes, I get sick of the endless cycle of remakes but at the same time, if great stories were no longer retold then they'd eventually be forgotten... and that'd be tragic. At the very least new versions of old stories bring attention to the original story as well as other great adaptations of said story.

People have been reviving ancient Greek plays and Shakespearean plays for like centuries, it's nothing new. Books or plays that are considered classics always have some relevance in any time, that's what makes them classics and that's why artists gravitate towards them and take their own crack at them.
