Friendship Day
Since 1973, MCAS Iwakuni has held a single-day air show designed to foster positive relationships and offer an exciting experience that displays the communal support between the U.S. and Japan. The air show encompassed various U.S. and Japanese static display aircraft, aerial performances, food and entertainment. (U.S. Marine Corps video by Cpl. Marcus Campbell)

I was there at the photo booth that day, and I was on the fight line for the F-18 AND F-35 demonstration. It was unreal, if you are stationed on Iwakuni, this is the event to attend. Lots of fun, lots of pictures.

Jakob Abrahamson good, the amount of people I know that say they are going , and get them set up just to back out last second is actually really annoying , what MOS do you want ?

The last Friendship Day I attended was in 2000. It was insane. I've never seen so many people in one place in my life. If I remember correctly they estimated something like 225k people there that day. They packed the street out the main gate all the way to 4 corners, shoulder to shoulder.
Makes you remember the good ole days.
Japan, one if our closest allies. Great video, Semper Fi from an old Marine Sgt......OUT.

Rah to my boy Vasquez over at Iwa Kuni right now, being stationed here in Okinawa is pretty fun but I wish we had something like this on the island.

Friendship Day sounds like a lovely idea. Perhaps it is apt to reflect on the friendship that the United States Military has extended towards the peoples of the Middle East slash-s.
