Honestly. I am finishing the show with my girlfriend, Joey is probably the best of them. He's just a good guy, a womanizer and a bit slow, but loyal to a fault and always comes through for his friends.

I think this scene is even better with the context that Chandler doesn’t cry.

Chandler was the funniest, but the love between him an Monica was so pure, thank you Matthew, for everything.

If you look closely at the start, you can see Joey's doing his 'soap opera' acting - just something subtle in the delivery and body language. Excellent performance by Matt LeBlanc.

It's weird right? At this point he's acting, lying to his friend for the sake of the surprise, and DAMN I'd believe him in a heartbeat.

Just revisited this clip after hearing the death of Matthew Perry today 😭 Matthew Perry was truly a phenomenal actor who was one of a kind on Friends. His portrayal as Chandler Bing brought us so much laughter and charisma to audiences and I’ve been so grateful to binge watch Friends episodes back to back. Rewatching this clip really hits me differently after hearing about Matthew Perry’s death and we will all miss him so much 😭💔 Matthew, thank you for being there for us. We’ll always be there for you to honor your legacy Matthew 🙏

I did the same thing, went straight to this clip upon learning of his death. No matter how many times I see this, it always makes me cry, and now it just makes me cry harder. He absolutely made that show, and I cannot believe he's been taken from us so young. May he rest in peace ❤

I can’t believe I just realized that the proposal took place in the exact same spot as Chandler’s fake “I’m sorry proposal.” That makes this scene even better. RIP Matthew, we love you. Thank you for all the great memories of Chandler and Mondler. You will be missed😢

The chemistry between Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox was amazing chemistry for over 30 years two of the most iconic actors of all time at that time

Best relationship construction in TV/movies ever. It was magical how each friend was part of the construction process. The smile of Joey at 0:49 is the cherry on top of the pie. Very well written!

I love Courteney Cox's emotions in this scene!

It breaks my heart everytime he says. "You make me happier than I ever thought I could be" like that means so much coming from him when you remember his horirble childhood and his shy nervous behaviour. To see him come up as a man and rise to the occasion as a husband

I think Friends is a mixed bag in certain aspects but Monica and Chandler is easily one of the best written romantic relationships I've seen in a TV show. The thing that makes it so amazing is the subtle character arc for each of them in the earlier seasons that culminates in them getting together, and making you realize how perfect they are for each other.

I am literally crying while watching this. This has always been my favorite scene of Friends. Rest in peace Matthew. Thank you so much for the happiness you’ve brought to this world.

Chandler was the friend who showed the most growth over the series, and had the most poignant moments.

My most favourite scene in all of Friends. In so many ways I can relate to Chandler and Friends helped me through so much when I was ill, and going through divorce. RIP to Matthew Perry hopefully you have found what your are looking for

This episode now hits the hardest ... We will always remember him achieving his dreams via his character in Friends. I think in this scene Mathew Perry is the one who speaks, and not Chandler Bing. There we can see him genuinely happy forever.

I remember that I originally watched the series out of order, as the dvd-boxsets were being re-released and not fully available yet at the time. Somehow season 6 ended up being my final season that I had left to watch and... This episode was such a dealsealer. I laughed, I cried, I cried some more... And then it was over. I can't believe it's over. We'll miss you, Matthew.

Apparently, the writers initially planned for both Chandler and Richard to propose to Monica, with it being a mystery over who she'd pick. However, they immediately realised that it was obvious that she'd ultimately choose Chandler, so the storyline was altered accordingly.
