I saw that bunny had been feeling depressed and didn't understand why she's a dog. I wanted to reach out and tell you. I had a similar experience with my cat when I was in college. She would stare at herself in the mirror and I could tell she was depressed. She saw I was able to do things that she couldn't do, Like using my hands to access things she couldn't, Drawers, Doors, etc. So what I did was I hid the mirror and I started really focusing on praising her. Telling her she was beautiful, Telling her that being a cat was special, That her senses being so acute, And her grace was something very special. I let her know how much I loved her, And whenever she did cool cat stuff I would express my admiration. It really helps, And it alleviated her depression, without drugs. I really hope you help bunny appreciate who she is in this life. Existential crisis are hard no matter what species you are.

It looks accidental, but then it all makes sense and she responds accordingly. His precision and speed is quite amazing. It's possible small dogs like Tenrec experience speed slower. A lot of small animals do.

It has been so fascinating to see this animal family evolving over the years! Back in spring of 2022, a feral cat mom and her 4 week old babies chose our backyard as a homebase so we've been gradually helping them get fixed and vaxxed, there's been a couple litters of hers during this process but finally got the mom fixed this year. We hope to get them permanent homes, so I've not done buttons or anything that physically specific, but I've incorporated some of your dog grammar speak with the keywords I use for training these kitties. Thank you for tge inspiration, because these cats are so bright, empathic, and talkative.

It really works, when it comes to buttonless communication with pet type of animal, I believe that a big part is also being able to communicate this words clearly with our bodies too. When we are intentionally communicating to animals, we really get to model the meaning with our bodies too without thinking about it too much.

@@GuyG.KTalesOfAnimals modeling the verbal is so important agreed! Much the time if they are investigating or looking at something I'll say "that's ___" and "good ___" so often! Body language too a little, especially with sit or stand words etc. Animals have such an amazing capacity omg

I had a little dog who would look at you when your name was mentioned in a conversation. I would ask him where my sister was, and he would look in her direction. Dogs understand more than we give them credit for, that's for sure.

Hi, I have been noticing that darling Bunny seems to be having digestive problems on occasion. Can I suggest that you try a raised bowl stand for her? Deep chested dogs like Buns can have problems with megasophagus and that can be really uncomfortable sometimes.

Bunny seems to be quite anxious. Based on their experience bringing Otter into the family, they might be trying to bring Tenrec “up to speed” without her watching because she might feel left out/ignored.

Otter and tenrec are the issue. They both are unneutered. Tenrec could easily get hurt. As soon as they're neutered and all that testosterone is out of their systems, she's going to integrate Tenrec

A few days ago she said to bunny: "I don't think you're emotional prepared for tenrec to come down yet". So maybe Tenrec is a bit to energetic? I don't know. It would be nice if they would explain, so we all know 😊

The thing is with animals, their cognitive function is that of a 2 year old when at full maturity, this is very visible with dogs in particular as their mindsets and intelligence is actually very close to a 2 year old, while chimps can be as intelligent as a modern 3/4 year old, which is crazy as humans are so much more intelligent than every other animal to such an insane degree

Tbh every atom in my body loves the concept of dogs learning to communicating with humans, but it just seems too good to be true. Dogs simply aren't as intelligent as humans.

You’re missing the whole point of having an animal or pet, everything in life is a lesson and animals teach us how to understand beings without words they help us connect with feelings, that lesson went over your head. Bunny is fully aware of this and by limiting her communication with you to just a few buttons, would frustrate any one,Let alone an animal that’s natural instinct is to communicate through emotion. This can cause her severe emotional neglect and depression, because you’re not understanding her the way you’re supposed to in full context when you limit her to a button in words. Coco was a good example of this I believe she also suffered depression.
