Friend of Jose Fernandez Burst Into Tears Hitting Home Run After Field Tribute

There wasn't a dry eye in house during the first game since the tragic death of Miami Marlins' pitcher, 24-year-old Jose Fernandez. The star pitcher was killed in a boating accident when it collided into a jetty. Every player wore Fernandez's number 16 and inscribed his number into the mound. Even the announcers struggled to keep their composure. Player Dee Gordon was burst into tears after belting a home run that soared over Fernandez's number painted on the wall. #InsideEdition

I played baseball for 2 seasons, and I thought that my teammates were all scumbags who talked trash and gave noogies to each other. Maybe that's the case for some teams, but not for the marlins. the amount of respect I have for the club has increased with how they dealt with the fernandez situation. And the dee gordon homerun... top 10 moment of the season, #1 emotional moment of the decade.

Billy Du I don't know much of anything about baseball, but all that sounds pretty good. I can tell he was loved by everyone and he had a promising future ahead of him. It hurts to see this kind of stuff, sometimes life "nor death" makes sense.... 😞⚾️.. Hopefully in time, they can turn the grief around and celebrate his life and legacy in his honor. He leaves them with a memories that's now frozen in time. Its never easy to heal in these times, but some how, some way, they will.

Jose Was the guy to inspire me to learn how to pitch and when I played that next day I gave up only one hit and we won. Later that night I found out he had passed away I couldn't sleep because I was crying. R.I.P Jose Fernandez Loved By All, My idol

Jose Fernandez was my inspiration for softball. I always dreamed being just like him.. Pitch a ball.. Smack it.. It's easy.. But not without my favorite baseball player. RIP I will always remember you. 😞😫😢
