I really appreciate the way you speak of Bible characters as though you know them personally or as though they are a living public figure. It always encourages me to read my Bible more because I want to know the characters this way. Thank you.
Ya gotta love the word "cobelligerents".
Thanks a lot, pastor Wilson. I love hearing Doug Wilson sort things out from a Biblical framework and battle-won experience.
Doug is awesome. I like all his vids. 👏🏽
Extremely well put, and quite necessary for the current moment, as it were. I look forward to hearing more about this, especially as this particular topic becomes ever more important
Nice talk - I think James Lindsay would be the first to sign the "co-belligerent not ally" declaration
Many thanks for all of your efforts in this arena, we the Church so need a good word and solid exhortation, and thanks for reminding me about my cousin Dave who is confused (needs Jesus)
Dude I just found James Lindsay about a week ago. The synchronicity is staggering.

Cobelligerent... 🤔I think I will add this to my vocabulary. 😂
I think Pastor Doug & James Lindsay would have interesting conversations! I listen to Lindsay's work all the time. You have to, if you want to keep up. He works like a maniac. I'm under no illusions about his view of religion. But so far, from all I've heard, he's been fair minded. Maybe if we weren't in the middle of a revolution, it would be different. At least from the many hours I've heard, he doesn't have that insufferable, condescending attitude toward all Christians and toward Christianity in general. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to stomach listening to him. I respect his honesty. I like him. (As much as you can "like" someone you don't actually know.) I pray for his salvation. Not because I want someone smart like him on our side, but because I care about him. I hope he has felt that from the Christians he's spent time with. There's comments he's made here and there that make me think he thinks he's just being used by us. If that's true and Christians ("Christians") have treated him that way, I find that shameful. God has given him more contact with followers of Christ and more opportunity to discuss serious life/philosophical issues than I'd bet he's ever had in his life. I do not believe that is an "accident." We need to pray for him and genuinely care about him, not just use him.

The closer Lindsay identifies with his atheism, the less possible it will be for him to acknowledge Christians caring about him.

@@Yesica1993 Imagine a teenage girl who has chosen a bad path in life, typified by her lousy choice in boyfriend. Her parents love her very much, but she doesn't see it that way. As far as she is concerned, unless her parents approve of and support her relationship with her boyfriend, they don't really love her. They don't love the real her. The girl might even go so far as to say "This is who I am, mom."
I'd like to hear this topic spoken on more. It's much to important to devote only a few minutes towards.
Right on time but a full throated discussion would be appreciated.
will try to get your book if i can afford it finances bad however cobilgerants are allies i see no different i would be happy to walk with mormons in pro-life however not as much with catholics don't you remember the inquisition ?
Brian kohl is taller in person.
As a Catholic, I think you should debate Trent Horn. You are both good debaters. Would love to see it. I loved your debates with Christopher Hitchens

Great comments Doug. Can you give commentary and review about Eric Metaxas book: “A Letter to the American Church.” He outs McArthur, Piper and Begg for not signing the “Manhattan Declaration” 2009. Maybe you’ve already covered this. If not please do. Thank you for “wisdom with a twist of citrus”! 🎉

I'll continue to listen to Doug, even though he thinks I'm not a Christian. He has some good ideas, I just don't think the concept of "the Trinity" is one of them.

I mean, if you don't acknowledge the Trinity, you are not a Christian. That's not meant to be an insult, just a statement of theological fact. But glad you are here and listening.
Seems a wee bit soft on Catholics there.
I have seen this attitude used as an excuse for every sin mentioned in the 10 commandments, and against everything in the Sermon On The Mount, to justify church splits, to justify . Loyalty to their friends (like loyalty to T***p) means they must excuse any sin, every sin, all the sins, committed by the one they owe loyalty to, and they must be willing to follow them to hell.
He says "friends rally around". Actually, most often, those friends that "rally around" are usually cultists that follow their "leader" just like Scientologists, or Mormons follow their leaders. Or they sycophants wanting to cash in on their "friends" popularity. In this case, Duggie is selling books. Everything he is saying and doing is a marketing plan to sell as many books as possible. And of course, the more outrageous, the more outlandish, the more anger, the more sleaze he can spew and sling, the better his books will sell. Paul (in II Cor) call these folks "peddlers of The Gospel".
Catholic and Mormon church are the same. Both heresy.
