I couldn't agree with you more. Really fantastic playing and tone. Reminds me of Pete Thorn where he can play any style of guitar brilliantly and get an amazing tone appropriate for the style with any piece of equipment. If I were selling gear I would want Michael to demo it for sure.

I'll be honest, for the most part I watch your videos for your opening music. I know the gear reviews help pay for your time putting these together. But it really is such a joy to hear these songs you're putting out. You should collect them all together and release them as album, I'd surely buy it. Thanks so much!

It’s so refreshing to hear something different than the classic be/hbe circuit for mid to high gain from Friedman. I just played this amp in person and the JEL is just different in a really cool way. It has its own thing going on. And the presence control is so powerful on this amp as well. As far as I know, this is the only Friedman amp with sat capability on the plexi channel! This and the Twin Sister are just so badass for rock stuff. Also it is more than loud enough to gig with for me!

This sounds VERY similar to the Marshall SC-20 (to my ears).... I love that clean channel! Would like to hear this amp on a lower-gain, plexi "super-crunch" setting....or maybe even the clean channel pushed, depending on how Dave designed this circuit. When this circuit get's pushed it loses articulation, and punch, and get's fizzy. It could be that with the gain dialed back a hair this cleans up beautifully. On another note, I'd love to see a 20watt version of the SS100 V2. I absolutely love my Little Sister. But, IMO the kind of the lower wattage hot-rodded plexi, Marshall circuits is the SLO-30. As always, killer video, love the playing!

Just ordered mine today with the cab. I can’t wait. I have the 20 watt JJ combo already and totally love it, but I think I’m going to like the JEL even better. From what I can tell it does seem a bit tighter and more percussion which is what I want. Plus the Plexi channel is exactly what I want for my cleaner tone, AND it has its own gain and master. I mean how could I not order it right? I might sell my JJ but maybe not. It’s a fantastic amp too. Without fail every show I play I have people who are musicians and ones who aren’t telling me the sound is amazing. Friedman really makes the good stuff. And he actually responds personally if you have a question or something. I’m way excited to get my amp if you can’t tell lol. Bad news is everyone else wants one so I have to wait for them to come back in stock at Sweetwater which is about 4-5 weeks. Oh well.

Getting ready to purchase this head want to use it this summer for the gigs I have scheduled and also getting rid of my silver jubilee. This seems like the ideal upgrade to the silver jubilee I can get rid of a few of my boost pedals and really this is basically to me a modified silver jubilee but just a way big improvement as usual. I also use a dirty Shirley but truly this is a beast in my opinion for a 20 W amplifier. I just don’t see how you could put much more into a 20 W head for invoicing From Dwayne Allman to slayer you can pretty much get anything you want here truly amazing stuff. Great great video my friend. I truly look forward to playing this. I am curious about the responsiveness of the amplifier and also as I know it’s assembled in the USA and has custom wound transformers, that’s the only description so I didn’t know if the PCB board design was import and then assembled Darren California as Maya boogie has done with like the Mark five series 25 seems like some of the smaller heads the PCV boards are imported same with the black magic ampprobably spelled that wrong again 7:35

After spending some time with this amp, I have to say it’s great. As soon as I saw Friedman’s social media announcement, I called my sales engineer and told him to put me down for one. You never know if you’re going to love something even if Michael, Pete or Ben make it sound great. Well, it’s great. One thing that has really surprised me is how much I love the Plexi channel. This amp is more versatile than my other amps which are all Friedman modified and those amps are great. I love them but this amp is fantastic. Can’t recommend this amp highly enough if you love late 70’s and early to mid 80’s rock tones. It excels at it. Bottom line: I’m impressed

Beautiful guitar. Enjoy it Mike!!! And the Friedman’s imo are the best amp’s out there. Is the neck a shorter scale? Re the JEL amp I think it’s based on the smallbox. I traded up to Wildwood Guitars spec’d Smallbox with the micro amp for a 3rd ch with extra, perfect gain. So plexi, regular gain and extra gain. Off white. It’s perfect. Mike, any way we could get a video on that Shabat guitar?

Thanks! Congrats on the WW spec SB! Those are great. The Smallbox and JEL are more firmly rooted in vintage Marshall lineage than the some of the others…so they may sound more related in that way. This Shabat is standard scale. Love it. I have a black p90 Shabat that is actually Gibson scale. Also so great! I’ll do a video on them as soon as I can
