MY RECIPE DETAILS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
PLEASE CHECK PINNED COMMENT FOR ERROR CORRECTIONS OR THINGS I FORGOT!
Ingredients Needed:
- Bologna (3 slices each sandwich or more)
- Bread (regular or KETO amzn.to/43mcdmX )
- American Cheese
- Garlic Pepper Mayonnaise (mix 3/4 cup mayo, 1 BIG tablespoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon black pepper together)
- Butter or Spray butter
INSTRUCTIONS: Mix garlic pepper mayo ingredients together and allow to chill in fridge for at least a couple hours. Butter your bread on both sides. Make slices in bologna as shown in video to prevent puffing in middle, this will assure a better sear and MORE FLAVOR! Pre-heat your griddle or frying pan to medium. Place bologna on and sear each side for a couple minutes or to your preference. Place on bread and allow each side of sandwich to toast (add cheese here if you prefer). Remove from cooker and ENJOY!

I remember well eating these not only growing up, but in 2005 when hurricane Katrina wrecked our city. We ate plenty of fried bologna sandwiches and also fried spam sandwiches. Those looked fantastic Mike! That char really amps up the flavor!

I've eaten a whole bunch of bologna sammiches in my years but never had a fried bologna sammich. I'm going to have to try this. I'm a soon to be 62 year old BIG kid now so better late than never I guess, and of course cutting them diagonally only makes them even better! Thanks for the idea, Mike!

I ate fried bologna sandwiches but with provolone cheese or American, and pepperoncini. Maybe marinara sauce to dip or spread on the bread! Also did the same with fried Salami(hard) or Summer Sausage. I also made spaghetti sandwiches by putting butter on two slices and spaghetti in between. And i made a salad of iceberg lettuce, mayo and green olives And put that between two slices

I love fried bologna with a dish called Mexican Hats! ^_^ It's slices of fried bologna, with mashed potatoes spread on top, and then slices of American cheese! :D I think that my Dad made up the dish, and he called it Mexican Hats, because when he would pan-fry the slices of bologna, he would leave them whole, and not cut slices into them, so they would bubble up, and look like little Mexican hats, sombreros! :D
