Lovely way to honor someone. May she rest in peace. As for Christie's books, I have only read one so far, Crooked House, about 10 years ago, and I remember enjoying it. I want to read more of her mysteries.

I enjoy Agatha Christie books but same as you, I remember the details of only a few of them. Her plots aren't noted for being unique and memorable so I think we are typical. I read dozens of her books when I was 10 or 11 and every one I read now is like a new book to me. I haven't yet read the one I plan on this month, but I'll get to it. I hope your work week next week is manageable and not as bad as you expect.

@@LaurieInTexas Thanks Laurie! I guess it just means we get to enjoy Agatha Christie every time! 💛
Hi Kelly, my favourite Christie is "Murder on the Orient Express", absolutely looove trains. Will read a Christie this weekend to honour Alice . Five Little Pigs was originally called "Murder in Retrospect" I can see why they changed the title. Go well.

@@nathanfoung2347 Be well, friend. 💛
I don't read a lot of mysteries, but I've been reading Christie's mysteries in chronological order over the years and 5 Little Pigs (1942) is the last one I read (in June). I did enjoy 5 Little Pigs because of the unusual structure (imagine if Poirot had DNA testing!). Since I'm only half-way through her books, I can't say I know (or remember) them all, but I'd recommend: The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, The 4:50 from Paddington, Murder on the Orient Express, Witness for the Prosecution (a short story), any of the Tommy & Tuppence books and my absolute favorite: And Then There Were None (has all the suspense--& then some--that 5 Little Pigs lacks). I think I like these the best because they're the ones I remember best! 🤣

Thanks Kathleen! I have and remember(!) And Then There Were None. I've read the other books you mentioned except possibly the short story. I have read, I believe one, Tommy and Tuppence book, but I don't remember a thing about it. If Poirot had had DNA testing, I don't think Agatha Christie would have had nearly so much to say! Happy reading!
I love Agatha Christie but agree, the only plots I remember are those from TV and film adaptations. At least it means you can reread them and still get enjoyment. Evil Under the Sun is probably my favourite and it's a great summer read (if it actually felt like summer right now).

Wonderful Kelly! I don't think I've read that Agatha Christie, but like you I never seem to remember them! So I may have read it but just forgotten :)

Hi Kelly! I read only two by Agatha Christie, Murder in the vicarage and Murder in oriental express, enjoyed both of them. I am currently reading If you tell a true crime. Is a very difficult book to read. I wish you good luck for next week my friend. Happy reading 💛

Kelly, try Agatha Christie's Crooked House. It is my favorite and it also was Agatha's personal favorite. It is one of the Christie books whose plot sticks with you.

I also really liked the originality of Five Little Pigs very much. For me, it is one of the best that I have read recently as well as this being Alice’s favorite 😊

@@booksimnotreading I like Poirot but some of the books in the series are phenomenal (Murder on the Orient Express) and my favorite is ABC Murders from his series but the Murder of Roger Ackyord is a better book objectively 😊 But I adore Miss Marple as a character, and I prefer her books. she is much more complex and the books in her series are all good or very good. My favorite from her series is 4:50 from Paddington but they are all so close for me 😊 And my favorite book is And There Were None 😎

@@BernasBookishAdventures I love Miss Marple too! She is a fantastic character. I have read the … from Paddington, but nothing tops Nemesis, although I agree that And then there were none is excellent. 💛
I read a lot of Agatha Christie Hercule Poirot books in my youth and enjoyed them. Then I watched some of the episodes of the Poirot TV series with David Suchet as Poirot. His portrayal became the definitive Poirot for me. I read two or 3 Poirot books in recent years. I liked the show better. The last I read was one you mentioned, Hallowe'en Party. I thought it was decent. It didn't make me want to read another Poirot book anytime soon. I should probably give a Miss Marple book a try

Murder on the Orient Express is definitely my favourite Christie. I am more partial to the Hercule Poirot novels in general but And Then There Were None would be right up there as well.

I like the sound of 5 Little Pigs, I don't think I've ever read a cold case Christie. I agree that I can read them over because I forget who the killer was, there are some notable exceptions though.

I think I have read "Five Little Pigs", but published as "Murder in Retrospect." It drives me crazy how Christie's books usually have two titles depending on where they are published. It makes it so hard to figure out which ones I've read.
