I think they made him a bit to edgy for my liking but other than that yeah they really nailed boyfriend

I love how DD’s character is played here. He does care for his daughter and doesn’t trust BF but it feels like he’s giving him a chance to prove himself. To be honest, I feel like it’s almost as if he’s holding back from going all out. There’s a certain mystery to him, as if there’s more to him than meets the eye which sort of lines up to whatever he’s doing behind the scenes in canon. Then near the end where Daddy Dearest lets Boyfriend date Girlfriend, he warns him that this isn’t the end and that there’s more who would challenge him, such as Mommy Mearest or Pico but for now, Boyfriend won this Friday night funk. It’s all really good.

The original game makes it out that Dearest is supposed to be evil, and, maybe there’s some truth to that, given Spirit, but I highly doubt he acts wickedly without regard of his daughter. It’s like Bowser, rotten to the core, but still a specific sweet spot for family.

He did Ugh during Songtober, though - as expected from Songtober - it's sort of a rough take.

This implies BF's skill is to take what they said and turn it into freestyle on the fly, which is actually a pretty interesting take.

Gotta admit, I clicked on this video thinking it wasn’t gonna be good because of FnF, but Man on the Internet has surprised me again. Well done!

I like how you kept true to Boyfriend's character by not technically giving him lyrics, but using his voice from the game.

There was an NPC in a D&D campaign I played who was a LE retired-rockstar bard who was just like this guy. Evil, and with a propensity for charming people to do what he wants, but fiercely protective of his dozens of bastards that he used as his minions.

Holy COW I loved this! I couldn't stop grinning. I love the voice, lyrics, and the effects. Also when I started the video I was wondering how it was so long, going through a whole run of the song with Dad getting the full runtime and then going through again with the back and forth was an absolute treat. ^^ Also I legitimately appreciate the effort in transcribing BF's lyrics, I'm not even memeing it's legit impressive how set to his specific sounds it is.

I like that daddy is protective and worried about girlfriend feelings but is willing to give boyfriend a shot to prove himself and when he does...well... "Daddy knows what's best" takes a new meaning at the end

Can we mention how exact the subtitles for Boyfriend were? Juno does a great job in his FNF videos, and I'm glad to see it here as well!

70% of Daddy Dearest's lyrics can be innuendos and I hate myself for thinking that

Love this. Even though DD is the villain in our eyes, he really is just protective over his daughter. Each time the chorus rolls round you can hear the heightened invigoration in his voice as scorn gains passion as a companion. He isn't nessecarilly bent on BF's destruction, but rather pushing limits to see whether BF is worthy. Notice a lot of the lyrics are rhetorical questions or suggestive. He 'wants' BF to succeed but not without one hell of a fight. So when you win, though reluctantly, he lets the date slide. On a side note, the thing you do with BF's voice at 2:34 was a great touch. The beeps obviously have to go with the song but it's literally a beep, like morse code. That little section offers a nice harmonic break where note flows seamlessly to note, much like how a piano and flute can play the same set of notes but while a piano's is more defined, the flute goes up and down seamlessly in a wave like it's one long varying note.
