I like how they altered this story to fit the game's lore. In the original, the giant wanted Freya's hand, (A common occurrence, it seems). No one really wanted that though, (least of which was Freya herself), so Loki transformed into a mare and seduced the mason's horse to distract him and make it so he lost the bet, when the mason found out, he transformed into his true giant form and began attacking, but was quickly dispatched by Thor. Loki then gave birth to Odin's 8-legged horse, Sleipnir. Obviously, since Atreus is Loki and this even presumably happened long ago, the story can't be the same, so I feel like this is a good compromise.

Good to know that they didn't stray too far away from the original story. I'm sure Atreus wouldn't be too happy giving birth to a mutant horse...or Kratos, for that matter. Could you imagine?...just- just imagine how such a situation would happen? Krato: Boy! What did you do!?... Atreus:..*Mumbles* fug-a-hurs-on-acint. Krato: WHAT- Atreus: Fucked a horse on accident! Kratos: HOW DO YOU "FUCK A HORSE" -

@@doodleking400 Well, considering who Kratos' father is, I don't think he'd find it that weird. Might be a bit concerned due to his son's age (Although, considering ancient Greece, maybe not), but he wouldn't be concerned about the shapeshifting childmaking.

In original myth the Giant wants to have Freya as his wife in exchange for the bet if he win. And he was killed for his rage for the God's deception. But seeing it in this version seems like he just want to setting up the stage and seek a person which experience the Gods's debauchery and tell them the trigger for the setup instead wanting to genuinely marry Freya. I think in this version he just bow down and back off and live instead of following his rage and die at Thor's Hand. It is kinda astounding how they setup the Giants to have an intelligent response to deal with Odin's madness. And the fact Odin or the Aesir itself cannot truly exterminated the Giants since they moved to another realm already by now and untrackable by Odin or the other Gods.

When he pulled back, he had this immensely satisfying smile upon his face. I didn't think anything of it until Odin asked me what the giant said. I told my husband what he said and he didn't believe me. He tried and tried to get me to tell him what happened and I answered truthfully every time. Odin grew enraged and paranoid. His suspicion grew to anger. The man I grew to love started to reveal his true nature and as a result, I was banished and sentenced to solitude in Midgard. That is when I realized the giant's true motivation. He knows Odin's paranoia would drive him into destroying our love. All that work, for him to say two words, that was enough to have his revenge
