bro you need to listen to some slow classical music, after, you will feel this just as a more melodical part, not magical and beautiful. Now you feel it like this because bass plays only bass lines (support or better armony), and when he plays the melody you feel it like this.

Johnny Lambe as someone who started on an upright double bass I can say I should have gone fretless from the beginning of my time on the bass guitar. Learning it that way is by far the best way to learn. You'll learn the actual scales and you'll be forced to know where everything is. Way better than learning a fretted one.

There is something just so satisfying about playing a fretless bass!!! I got to play an old Thunderbird back when I was 16 and I loved it! Could not afford it...hell I couldn't afford the strings for it..lol It is a shame that so many musicians that could be superstars never get to shine because the almighty dollar snuffs out that flame. Let's hope that in the future, money is less important than the talents that are waiting for their chance to shine!
@ypierro
2 жыл бұрын
It's an excuse. If you must you will. "Talent" only raise in adversity, and being unable to afford a crazy expensive instrument is what make you work towards it. If you give a million dollar to any potential musician, you can be sure that's how you turn down that flame.

You are my hero i have watched this a million times and this was my intro to bass
I have just started learning bass as my second instrument after playing the violin for 7 years with my reasoning being "bass is like a massive violin with frets (and no bow obvi)" and well this..... this is a massive violin
What can he do with a fret-less bass? Destroy your hopes & dreams.
That fretless sound is soo amazing!!!! I used to walk several miles to my Long and McQuades, when I was about 15, just to play on the fretless T-bird they had there. I would sit there and be in heaven, till they kick me out... which usually was about 2 hours. I think they let me play that long because I got pretty good at making these sweet melodies. I could not afford anything in the store as my mother was a widow, my younger brother was a kidney patient and I was too young to work. In short we were the almost homeless of today. After listening to this sweet piece, the distinguishing sound of the instrument, I still wish I could grab a fretless and get back to heaven. Thank you for a flashback that I thought I never experience again.
You are absolutely the best bass player! Love your talent & energy!!

I also look to clarify that I do in fact "Grammer" most of the time and regret to say that due to a lack of sleep my brain was not functioning 100% and therfore my skills slipped. I would also like to thank you kind sir for informing me of my Grammer mistake so that I can correct it and others may see and learn from this experience. Take heart in the fact that you have helped many people by pointing this fact out. Have a wonderful day.
Very impressive... But what can you do with a violin bow?

Fan..tastic, I love that ! Plaese more pieces like this one !
WOW!!! That was VERY impressive. Best to all.
Totally awesome. The sound of a fretless bass is so unique and you obviously master the instrument.
I'm 53 years old. Been playing bass for 40+ years. All I will say is Davie504 has it going on. Excellent instrument dedication.

He's the prototype of a bassist. And he's virtuoso level without being a schmuck about it. Perfect bassist. As a drummer you couldn't get anything better. Good basics are important.
I'm a new follower. And damn! Much love from California
We had to watch this in my music GCSE class not long ago and I was just sat there like "Wait.. Hold on.. Is that Davie504!!??" And low and behold I was correct. Great job dude!
I've watched your videos for a couple years now, and I finally decided it's time to pick up an instrument. You have inspired me and gave me confidence to start playing bass. Thank you davie

You have been blessed with huge long fingers you make that thing look like a toy! Haha I love those huge harmonic slides! I play fretless bass myself but not as well as yourself ❤
DAVIE IS SOOO TALENTED !! THIS IS EPICO
I love all your solo's, but this definitely produced the most smile in me out of all of them up to 2019 xD
Very impressive! Listening to this while waiting for the Italian voice reveal, which should have already happened because you are already at 4 million subs. I SMASHED LIKE!!
One of my personal favorite Davie bass solos.
Excelente, de lo mejor que he escuchado.... Gracias flaco.
Sliding reminds me of 90's video games xD
man, thanks for this terrific bass solo, you really rocks!
Sick jams!!!
One of your bests solos, in my opinion.
