I used to dabble in things like this but now all my tools live in the woods with each tool representing a story of frustration, anger and disappointment while trying to fix stuff. I visit them once in a while but otherwise do not disturb them.

I really appreciate how calm you stay during the problems you encounter. I can share this with friends and not have to worry about foul language and we have learned a lot from you. Thank you sir!
Do a video on what you do with all the bikes and machines you have bought over the years. You buy so many.

A man of infinite patience...........it's a pleasure to watch you work.
I really like how methodical you are and that you pull components apart to look for failures rather than just swap in a new one.
My misunderstanding is how you stay so chill. I would be probably be taking a 10 min break or so, so I can just throw stuff!!

Maybe if you could control your emotions you might be a better mechanic than you are now. I worked with a crybaby mechanic and he was always upset having to work on a car that was too wet or too hot. Eventually it came out he was gay and his boyfriend was cheating on him with a technician.

I guess you mean 1858 miles instead of 18.580. Nice machine ! 😊
Great to see it going. The yellow wire should go to your neutral safety circuit to get it's ground, a bad safety switch or out of adjustment could cause you to see 12v and not ground.

Could have a seat switch in line with the neutral safety. Not sure if these have those though.

I work on lawn mowers, and that is what I was going to say!
We have a automotive shop and we use a vacuum bleeder on cooling systems. They are the way to go especially on something like that that has coolant lines running long distances.
Just watched your two videos on your UTV. Wow, what a great job and your patience is remarkable. Tom is a new fan .
Definitely appreciate you taking us along on this journey. Congratulations on finally overcoming the various challenges!
100 hrs but we all learned a lot. Good job man 👍
Joe, the cap serves a few functions when used with the over flow tank. First it will push air and water out into the overflow during warmup, but on cooldown it will only draw water back in, the cap and tank help keep air out of the system, as long as their are no leaks that stop a vacuum from forming on cooldown. Second, the cap maintains pressure on the coolant, raising its boiling point and keeping it from boiling over at 212. Depending on when the cooling fan is set to come on by the switch, it could overheat when not moving because the cap is off or bad and then the temp can’t raise high enough to trigger the fan (if the trigger is above 212) because it boils over first. I’m betting though that your vehicle fan triggers a lot lower than a regular car, which often times is 215-220 degrees, sometimes higher.

@@GNX157 you shouldn’t be adding your opinions to anyone else’s videos first off, second that wasn’t the intention of my comment, my comment is that this kid has somehow managed to gain a following on KZread by doing the wrong thing but making it work, I get you feel the need to try and explain his position, (I don’t actually understand trying to speak for someone you don’t know) but regardless the post meant he doesn’t do things the right way, he stumbles his way around things, puts together dirty parts with out checking the big picture diagnosis, anyone can make an engine fire up, it’s takes actual skill and knowledge to make it run well and make power. Something this kid has yet to master, technicians trouble shoot, mechanics and builders fix things and make power, anyone can figure out how to make gas and spark go boom, that’s not talent, that’s the basic rudimentary process of combustion

Wow, great job as usual Joe ! That thing had a lot of issues and you handled everything with ease ! You are the man ! Love your videos Joe !
It pays to keep trying instead of giving up.Every day there is always something new to learn.Great outcome Joe...!!
Joe, your calm methodical, logical approach to this was amazing! Another “new” solenoid would have had the same problem! Excellent job! Nearly all dealership mechanics would have given up! Unless they had experienced this before!
Very nice job, my brother. I usually don't comment but it was very satisfying to see you trouble shoot every problem and get this one completely working again. Thanks
I just found your channel and everyone is complimenting you on how calm you stayed during this. I find that amusing honestly. It’s very easy to stay calm when you’re editing the videos. 😂 😂

Well done, Joe! There’s no quit in Joe!
Another great video series, Joe. After watching you deal with this thing I will never buy one even if it is cheap!
If you look back on your assembly video the pin was on the water pump shaft when you put it together so if you're still in the case or it fell out when you drained it before you took the side case off
At least you caught it before it blew again! Now your a pro on this engine! Great video bro!👍🏻
This really put you to the test Joe. You came out on top in the end. Even if you didn't break even.
That was an awesome video the whole series and your patience is to be commended
Awesome video man! Great to see it worked out and wasn't another 100 hour rebuild ❤

Should retrofit an Led bar on top and on the front. Nice to see you crossing off projects, Joe. Well done.

Thanks for sharing, nice to see this project finally complete ! What a patience it takes ! Often we see you doing, and it's like, oh, I could do it, seems like fairly easy job, but from time to time, this kicks in, and that's where you make a difference too ! :) Nice job !
I think what you do is really cool. Also, very helpful info to help me maintain my machines. One recommendation when getting a neglected machine is to use Pri-G if you think it has old gas. We had stale gas in a turbo charged Can Am machine that caused it to sputter. Pri-G rejuvenated the stale gas and it ran perfectly.
You certainly deserve success for all you hard work & patience !!!
You know the ‘fuse’ you took out for the solenoid is actually a relay.. with a control side and load side, love your methodical and relaxing approach, from UK
Joe look back on the rebuild. When you put it together I think I saw you turn the impeller and I said to myself why did that turn it shouldn't. Should be tight !:-/

I MISS THE OLD DAYS WHEN YOUR BROTHER WAS AROUND . BUT I CAN SAY YOU HAVE COME ALONG WAY SINCE THEN
Invest in a nice 1/2 battery impact. They’re game changers. Great content once again
Great work, way to persevere!
I would want to know how that pin fell out and why. That's a critical part like the proverbial nail in the horse's shoe eventually led to the loss of the battle. That pin has to be somewhere. You have amazing patience to work on such difficult machines that aren't designed for easy maintenance and repair. I would get too frustrated.
Good video. My take is when you measured a “positive”” on the yellow wire, you were actually measuring back through the solenoid coil to the 12v positive--no voltage drop through coil since it wasn’t drawing any current. The yellow wire was not grounded, maybe because it was interlocked to brake pedal switch (as another post pointed out)You supplied the ground to make it work. Maybe the real culprit was the brake pedal interlock switch?
You’re a very good Mechanic ! Thanks for explaining your process and reasoning. I have learned a lot from your videos. Keep them coming.
4:15 of your last video, the pin was definitely in there. Commenting before I even finish this video so hopefully it all works out!
Tough lessons full rebuild always test pump impeller and replace thermostat, I have been there unfortunately lots of extra work. on a positive note, at least you have more great content to share!
The doors don’t stay closed 😂but everthing is ok 😂😂😂😂
Wow that turned out nice. That yellow wire from the solenoid probably goes to a safety switch that connects to ground to prevent it starting in a certain situation. The reason it showed positive was the positive voltage on the green wire was traveling through the solenoid coil and coming out the other side to the yellow, and you will see that voltage if that side is not grounded.
Joe, when you strap the side by side down always strap the tyres and never like you had it because everytime you go over a bump in the road the bike goes down on the suspension which loosens the straps then when the suspension comes back up it snaps the straps tight which could break the straps. This goes for all vehicles when tying down.
Man I have got hooked on ur ur videos chuck from Sacramento California so much info
Awesome to see how it originally failed now. The fan fuse broke, which made it overheat over and over again, which destroyed the cylinder walls and pistons due to excessive expansion and contraction from heat cycles.
You're a real trooper, you never give up. It's good to check the thermostat with a thermometer to see if it opens at the designed rating.
@oldjarhead386

Exactly. Use a thermometer and bring the water up with the thermostat submerged. This way you can actually check the opening temp calibration.

Use a Rectal Thermometer, because you really took it up the Ass on this Deal! 😋🙁
Right before breakfast nice
That's what I like about you,it got to be perfect before you left it go.you don't give up on a problem.
The ground from the solenoid was showing positive because the positive flowed back through the solenoid windings, the actual problem is a bad grounding.
wow that's actually a pretty nice setup with the threaded holes in the secondary clutch. Freaking Polaris you have to buy a special Pry tool to spread the plates.I just rebuilt the engine in a 2012 Polaris RZR 900 XP. Huge pain in the ass to work on a Polaris engine.
I look at the previous video and the water pump pin was definitely in there when you put the cover back on.
Neutral safety switch for solenoid ground.
Looks like it's gonna be a nice rig!!!! Great vids.
The way you handle frustration is very impressive
