This fresh strawberry pie is very similar to the Shoney's/Elias Bros. Big Boy strawberry pie that they served. It's very light and a refreshing summertime dessert. I have listed the ingredients below along with a link to my always flaky pie crust recipe so that you can make this for yourself. I hope you'll try it, you won't be disappointed. Fresh Strawberry Pie
One 10" deep dish or two 9" pie crusts, precooked and cooled
1 1/2 cups sugar
4 tablespoons cornstarch
1 1/2 cups water
One 3-ounce package strawberry gelatin
2 pounds strawberries, washed and sliced

Yes, it is! My husband and I used to stop at the Elias Brothers Big Boy every Saturday evening on our way to an Auction back when we lived in Michigan. We'd always order a piece of this pie, it was SO delicious. Thanks for stopping by!

Looks beautiful! It is almost too beautiful to eat. I have a question for you, have you ever tried to make this with Splenda?

Thank you! I've never tried it with Splenda, but I think you could probably use sugar free gelatin and Splenda and it would probably turn out fine. I don't make this recipe very often, so I've always done it the way my original recipe said. Thanks for watching.
May I add Shoneys was a bit deeper red because they would add a few drops of red food color to filling.

Yes, you could certainly do that, if you wanted to. I typically don't have food coloring on hand, so I didn't use any. I'm happy that you stopped by, thanks for watching.
