Hi Shelbey! I haven't seen anything new and interesting in the drugstore yet. I love the Revlon Illuminance foundation. It makes my dry, mature skin look so glowy and fresh. I have never tried the Colorstay but now I want to try it and blend it with the Illuminance. You got me reminiscing about my high school makeup. ('76-'79) Yeah, I'm old but I'm still here.😁

I’m 59 and I’m rolling laughing at the recollection of teenage makeup. I remember covergirl foundation having a strong chemical smell (junior high age) and I liked it! My mom used Noxema all the time and I don’t think it smelled exactly like it, it had its own scent. I had this red blush in a tube ( gel like) and I would literally have red circles on my cheeks looking like a clown and I would go to school that way. 😂

Small town girl here and all we have for food/groceries is the Dollar General, a Silver Star East, and “The Tavern” which is just a tiny kitchen with a bar and some booths

You need to do a makeup look of your high school makeup! Lol id love it!

The foundation smelled like NOXZEMA 😂😂

I can't wear this foundation because I am allergic to Noxzema. It burns my skin. I tried use my my sisters Noxzema Cream as an elementary school . I ended up screaming because I got a chemical burn. Cover girl No no no.

I still use the cover girl clean foundation. Its so good, inexpensive, looks beautiful on my skin, and yes, still smells like noxema

In the late 1990s i was wearing Cover Girl Continuous Wear foundation. I was 40ish. I loved that foundation 😊

The Covergirl clean foundation looks stunning and fresh on the skin. I still love it and wear it.

What fun nostalgia of high school days and the make up we used… I could literally smell this cover girl foundation as you talked about it! Noxzema is what it smelled like! And oh my goodness, did we bake cakes on our faces! So much make up… I remember using a lot of cover girl and Rimmel foundations… then I found the Revlon ColorStay and it changed everything for me at that time! 😂 when you said how you felt like no one could touch you when you left the house in the morning… Totally wrong era… But the song “Unstoppable” popped in my head😂.

Oxy5, Oxy10 ... but maybe that was 80s and 90s. Your throwback photo was everything. And when you blinked excessively at your young self for redoing your makeup to go out at night. Love. That liner is perfect with your eye color.

I wore makeup too light also. I remember my best friend’s boyfriend told me I needed to stop wearing my white makeup 🤦🏻‍♀️ it was the L’Oréal stick foundation in the silver tube. Circa 2000.

I love the Revlon Illuminance fountation❤❤❤ I wore Bare minerals all through my late 20-and 30. Until they changed the powder formula… Moore that in my teens I didn’t wear foundation much . Maybelline mascara and Kissing Potion lipgloss. ( yes I’m 57!!! ) My first tube of lipstick was Clinique Black Honey!!! I got it with purchase of 3 Skincare items. ❤❤❤

Omg this is just what I needed today. My son is in the thick of an 18 month sleep regression I am running on a total of 3 hours of sleep and I finally got 20 min to myself to eat something at 3:30pm after having to rock him for his nap 😵‍💫 So many lol moments thinking back on the early 2000s makeup and the throwback picture! Thank you for that!

Oh, my! I used all that and did all that! CG Clean and Revlon Colorstay, baby! I even got my late grandmother hooked on them.😅 OG Dollar store!!! I'm alot older than you though, at 46. Sigh...I started with a darker, orangey face, but then got on the too light train. Apparently, I was stuck there for many years. I looked like a ghost face with a golden tan. 😆 👻 Yikes! Loved your look, as always! I, too, prefer a brown nudey lip. I had to buy Allie's lippies, though. Waiting, impatiently, for those. They've shipped. :)

I do like like the Revlon illuminance foundation. Not as an all day wear foundation but running errands or going out for brunch, lunch, supper kind of foundation. I don't have the color stay foundation but I do have the can't stop won't stop foundation that I mix the Saie glowy super gel with and I freaking love the foundation even more now. Oh and I knew you would like the dark lumi glotion as bronzer, I picked up the darker shade earlier this summer for a liquid bronzer idea and fell in love right away.

I wore the color stay (before for normal to oily) now? I use the one for dryer skin. I love the new foundation from Revlon; haven't worn it in s bit, will try mixing though with Color Stay (will see how you like it). Love love love the No7 stuff...my walgreens usually has a good selection on makeup. Foundations, blush, bronzer, mascara...the works. Also a lot of skin care from Soap and Glory which is made in the UK, also and Walgreens is owned by Boots. The stores with beauty advisors are the ones that have the better assortment of the Boots No7 products which includes Soap and Glory. The store I go to, when I can, has Revolution and a ton of everything else. I prefer to go late, after the Beauty Advisor leaves. No problem with her, but I don't like to feel any pressure...they eyeshadows are also really nice. For a drugstore brand, the stuff from No7 is amazing! x

I used to wear a shimmery pink lip in the 80s when it was not really a thing. And I loved Dr Pepper lip balm. And yes, the powder was a must❤

I did not fall pray to doing the thin 90s eyebrows. I now luckily still have my brows. I was never much into trends. I usually wore what I liked. However there are a few unusual outfit and makeup choice. Hot pink lip and blue shadow in the 80s was not a great choice. It gives me the giggles looking at those photos.

Have you tried the Covergirl Clean Fresh foundation? It is absolutely stunning!! Yes the smell is a little weird but it does not linger after you blend it in. It’s glowy, evens out skin tone beautifully, and lasts so well if you set with powder. Truly your skin but better!

I used to love the Revlon ColorStay when it came in a jar and was more of a mousse - back in the 90s. L’Oréal also had a good mousse foundation back in the day. The shade selection was atrocious! I swear that Noxema cleanser burned my skin! Will never forget the scent of that. 🤬

On screen the combo makeup looks a bit too dark and a bit yellow. I am sure with your skills you can make it work but then why pay for 2 items? The Laura MErcier if very beautiful. When sheered out it looks like a silvery "slate" color. But Laura Mercier is not really drugstore as far as its price. Having said that you have exceptionally beautiful eyes and you are the queen of blending that can make any makeup working

I'm 67 amd my first foundation was the original Covergirl Clean Foundation in the little glass bottle, smelled like Noxzema face cream. I have a couple of friends who still wear that foundation.
